Problem: CPU and GPU getting very hot while playing

Has anyone else experienced issues when playing the game?

My CPU gets close to 60C (which as a AMD CPU is at its upper limit) and my GPU goes into the 70s.

I was playing about 30 mins ago and my whole system crashed, which seems like it was due to over heating. I had to wait for the whole thing to cool down slowly before my computer would boot up again.
I recently just changed the thermal paste so I was really surprised by this happening.

My system is an AMD 6300 6 core CPU & AMD r9 270X 4 GB GPU so it isn't as though my system should be struggling when playing the game. Other games make the GPU get got but nothing is nearly as bad as Don Bradman in getting my CPU temp really high.

As I said I'd like to find out if anyone else is getting these issues or if it is just my system reacting badly to the game?

What "other games" do you play that get it hot, but not that hot?

Lately I've been playing Shadow of Mordor and the new Wolfenstein games. Both of those are certainly more graphic intensive and probably need much more CPU power too but they don't heat up my system nearly as bad as DBC does.

Bizarre. @Ross and @hbk may well be interested in your set up then, might be an issue to do with your particular set up, but might be worth them having a look into.

I'm surprised your computer(laptop?) is shutting itself down at just 70c; usually, cpu and gpu can withstand late 80s. Anyway, try to play in medium or low settings and see if it still crashes.

It is a computer but because it is an AMD processor it cannot safely go above 60C. Intel ones do run safely at 70ish but AMD ones cannot safely get to that temperature.

I'll try running it at lower graphical settings but it is disappointing that I should have to lower them considering I can max out just about every other game I can think of. The two games I mentioned are more graphically demanding and as there are more things happening on screen (in terms of enemies or projectiles) the CPU requirements should be a lot higher than DBC.

I understand where you're coming from, but firstly we need to find whether lowering the settings of the game is making an impact or not.

try lowering your CPU max state to 80%, I play with under clocked CPU and overclocked GPU and it works wonders
