Bichel is the king of kings. The ICC bitch about the spirit of cricket, if they really valued it, they would recognise this man as it's embodiment. If only every team had a few Bichels, you might not get any records breaking, but you would get great cricket.
Stuart MacGill represents a lot of great qualities to me. He's a man who sticks up for what he thinks, even if it's not in his best interests. A guy who won't let a massive obstacle (Warne) overburden him, in fact, he seems strengthed by it. He's a man who bucks the trend of the stereotypical Aussie cricketer, but through his lighthearted and humourous demeanor, he is true blue.
I say it again and again, there's two guys I can't wait to hear commentate. Adam Gilchrist and Glenn McGrath.
Within Gilchrist's simple down-to-earth charm, so too, his simple mantra, "just hit the ball", is a key to much of his success, indeed good wisdom for anyone. Things don't get out of your control while they are simple.
As for the bloke from Narromine, there's another kind of simple. Just bowl the same excellent delivery a million times. Success will follow you.
Of course, these guys aren't just simple folk. Gilly never leaves his wit in the dressing room and can joke cricket as well as he knows cricket. McGrath is a renowned practical joker, famously confident when speaking to the media and never short of a word, a quintessential "Aussie larrikin".
