Test cricket, ODI cricket and T20 cricket. Who do you think is currently the best batsman to play in all three formats.

I will say JP Dumminy followed by ABDV are the two best batsman in world. Both can bat in test, ODI and T20 games without any loss of attacking or defensive shot.

JP Dumminy is in different league all together. :hpraise

Sehwag,Gambhir,Mahela,Sangakkara,G.Smith to say a few more.
Gambhir on top of all of them followed by Mahela for me.

Sehwag = Good is test matches and dangerous in ODIs. Hardly any factor in T20s.
Gambhir = Out of touch in all formats at the moment.
Mahela and Sangakkara = T20. No please.
G. Smith = yes but still rate him below his two fellow countrymen.

Best
ODi
Batting=Yuvraj , gautaum, mcmallan(sorry for wrong spelling)
Bowling=M.aamir,Brett LEe

T20
Batting=Shahid afridi,Imran nazir
Bowling=Andrew flintoff,shahid afridi

Tendulkar and Ponting do not even play international T20.

AB and JP definitely would be top of the list. Sehwag has shown glimpses of what he can do in the T20 for Delhi during the Champions league. Gambhir when he was in form would have been right up there with AB and JP.

Is there actually a batsmen in world cricket that is the best, or one of the best in all three forms of the game. Since you're talking about test and ODI cricket I'm assuming you mean Int20/20 cricket, if so.....

Duminy has been pretty average this year in one day cricket, he's averaging 31 over the course of 12 innings. Ab de Villers has been fantastic in test and one day cricket, but he's only averaging 24 in 20/20 cricket and if you take out his 79* against Scotland it drops into the teens.

One name which has yet to be thrown out there (and this surprises me) Tillakaratne Dilshan. In eight test matches this year he's scored four 100's and one 50 (which was a 90) and he's scored these runs at a very rapid 85.5 per 100 balls. In 14 ODI's Dilshan has scored 647 runs at 49.78 with a strike-rate of 98, with two 100's and two 50's. In nine 20/20 internationals Dilshan has scored 375 runs at 46.7 with a strike rate of 150. Those numbers put Tillakaratne Dilshan well above any other batsmen in the world at the moment.

Howsie beat me to it but Dilshan then JP then AB for me. Also KP

Sehwag's at the top in the moment. Been a pretty fantastic Test and ODI opener before injury and from his performances in the last CLT20 games he's coming back in form in T20 too.

Tbf Sehwag has never been "inform" in 20/20 cricket, his overall record is actually quite poor. Not saying he can't be a very good 20/20 batsmen because this certainly isn't the case, but I don't know if you can put him at the top when he's lagging so much in one form of the game.
