I don't think you can do when you are playing a match, but you can do so in cricket academy.

I didn't realise you could save a custom field setting!! Gonna try today and if this is the case, bowling and fielding will be a whole lot better.

If you create a custom field in the academy it won't appear in saved matches. It will be in your next match

No, it's just that if you updated field settings while you have a career game in progress it won't appear until the next time you start a career game.

Finish the 4day, list a or t20 game you're on now and when you start the next one your custom field settings will appear (provided you saved the properly in the academy).

Edit - at least that's how it worked for me on PC

Why do my fielding settings seem to change? I bowl an over with a mid off. Next over that bowler bowls and the batsman gets a single by hitting ball to long off....how come my fielder has moved?

Field changes randomly at the moment. If batsman changes ends, a wkt falls, a new over comes up or a new bowler comes in, the field changes. Would love to have the same selected field at both ends for all batsmen and for all bowlers once you select a particular field. Right now you spend too much time & effort re-selecting or re-setting the same field again and again.

Yes its a known bug since day 1 of the game , will hopefully get rectified in Patch3
