Bowling looks and feels good in DBC17, but I am having real trouble getting anyone bowled or LBW. I normally play on Pro. The batsmen shovel the ball in the air to be caught quite often.

I have ramped up the pace a bit and am playing on a green cracked pitch, but the AI batsman hardly miss a thing, and the only way I seem to be able to get anyone out is caught. (I am playing tests)

Share your strategies and perhaps someone can help me out with getting the AI out bowled here.

No play and misses??

Hardly. A few nicks though.

EDIT - Just got an LBW with Latham playing around a straight one, which is nice. I guess patience is the name of the game, but in three days of test cricket I haven't looked like getting a bowled.

EDIT - Oh... just as I was saying ...

Feels like consistency plays a big role this time?

In streams too I have seen some beautiful play and misses on cutters..Also feel like the runup could also be used better and with a plan...

On a flat, dry wicket I'm getting some success bowling with either a 7-2 or 6-3 offside field and bowling cross seam/cutters about 5th or 6th stump line, a few plays and misses, but thankfully not hitting in the air as much, those wickets just feel a tad cheap (though I'll bump up the AI from veteran to legend after this game finishes and see if that has any effect).

So what are the best gameplay modifier settings to get people bowled on this game? I am 90 overs into a test, and I am not sure if it makes any difference, but I haven't had one play and miss from a right hander. Do the modifiers make any difference to how the AI bats or are they just something cosmetic?

I'm having better luck on Rookie with a few more plays and misses and after nine overs got Du Plessis to get an inside edge onto his stumps, which was nice. Feels a bit more like test cricket when the batsman aren't so impenetrable

On the Xbox when I play spin it does not use the R pad 90% of the time am i doing something wrong?

Lower difficulties might be your friend. Had a proper bowled as well as a few plays and misses in my one completed bowling innings so far. I think aspects of the batting just aren't there enough yet to avoid gaming certain types of dismissals.

i have put the spin difficulties to zero still have the same problem

1st i select the delivery e.g. top spin
then I select the length e.g short
then it just bowls without me putting any spin on it and it releases earley
