Hi Guys I am just trying to play the demo, Unfortunatley its not working for me.

It says "Hardware failed to switch to the specific mode"

Can someone help please.

Thanks guys,

change desktop resolution and close anti virus. If that does not work post system specs and operating system along with screenshot.

Considering this game is an on-line multiplayer, turning off the anti-virus (albeit for the demo, but think of future workings) isn't an ideal recommendation.

A screenshot of what is giving that error command would be useful.

I have to turn off my anti-virus for all online games I play (albeit that is like 2 games) I just assumed that was the norm lol!!!

This is what i am getting guys. I played the demo yesterday it worked fine. Its just stop working.

Specs are as follows: Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor
T4200 2.00Ghz 2000 MHz Dual core
Physical Memory: 3.00GB
Windows Vista
150GB Hard drive

No, it's your Firewall settings you need to change. You've probably got some ports closed off. Aren't you on a uni campus?

Well if you know port forwarding then no need to stop anti virus or firewall for online play.

But some issues have been seen with anti virus in launching offline mode, that's why I recommended turning off anti virus. :)

Will let CR know of this error and see what we find. I still recommend playing around with resolutions. 1024x768 is recommended.

What's your desktop resolution?

Try changing it and post here if you're able to run it.

Make sure you have the latest display drivers installed. If you do not have those, then update them and I'm pretty sure that will make the demo work.

Dear i am playing Fifa 2009, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and other games on my computer and i am unable to play the demo of this game. If there's problem with my display drivers then these latest games will not run on my computer. Don't know what the problem is. Can you help me man. i really want to try this game out.

No, it doesn't necessarily mean those other games won't work either.

Try updating to SP3 as well.

That is quite a low-end PC though.
