Downloading prob

whenever i try 2 download anything from the internet an error shows "Explorer was not able to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later."

An idea would be to stop using Internet Explorer. It's rubbish.

Plug yourself into Firefox!

did u have an download accelerator and unisnstalled it? it generally happens when the uninstall doesn't go right.

just try resetting IE.
goto tools>settings>programs tab> reset IE
if this doesn't work then try to find and disable the plugin in tools>settings>programs tab>manage addons.

i go to tools menu but there isnt any settings option

Well for IE v7 goto Tools >> Internet Options >> Advanced Tab >> Reset Internet Explorer Settings.

Similarly for Manage Add-ons - Tools >> Internet Options >> Program Tab >> Manage Add-ons.

i went to the advanced tab but there was a list and only 1 button(its caption was "restore defaults")i clicked on it but still cant download

oh i have this prob a lot, all i ddo is restart the \pc and it works

This seems to be an automated version of the above microsoft advise.

It could also be your firewall. Is this with anything you try and download or just certain files or from certain sites?
