Welcome to this tour, this tour will show the trials and tribulations of the Dutch ODI squad as the travel the globe to enhance there reputation as a emerging cricket nation and hopefully to gain full test match Status.

First Up for the lads from Holland is a tricky ODI tournament hosted by Pakistan as they try to show the world they are able to host the2011 world cup. Each match wll be 50 Overs per side with a straight knockout format. The games are played on PS2 so the screenshots may be fuzzy unless knows a better may of me getting them on.

The Dutch squad will be captained by Kloppenburg who will also be opening the batting for his nation. The Dutch have been granted permission by the ECB to play all of there home games at Hove due to rebuilding work ihn Amsterdam.

Exclusive Interview between Richie Benaud and the Captain JF Kloppenburg.

RB- Welcome Kloppenburg

JF-Hi

RB- You are going around the world with the Dutch ODI squad not many of our viewers will know much about Dutch Cricket could you tell them ab it about how your team plays?

JF- Well we have not got any big names but what we do have is a fantastic team spirit and a collective spirit and a tough work ethic. We have a decent opening partnership of Van Nortwijk and myself and a strong middle order. Our bowling is probably our major weakness as we have no real pace in the side.

RB-How do you hope to fare in your upcoming knockout in Pakistan?

JF-well depending on our draw we hope ti impress out there all the lads are really up for it and want to give a good account of what the Netherlands can do.

RB-How long do you believe it wil be before you can get your first win we have seen countries really srtuggle for years such as Bangladesh and New Zealand to get a win when they first begin to play with the big boys?

JF-Obviosly it could take some time but this tour is a learning process, it will take a while to adjust and we will have to be on top of our game, but at the moment our main aim is performances rather than wins we need to play well then i believe the wins will begin to come.

RB- Do you believe the Netherlands can continously produce Cricketers and stadiums to compete in world Cricket.

JF- If the financial backing is there from the NCB and Government i see no reason why not.

RB-Well i wish you all the best for your tour and hope we can see some good cricket.

JF- Thankyou.

Things could not have got any harder for the Dutch Squad they have been drawn in the first round of the knockout competition against the Worl Champions Australia. The game will be played at Karachi in front of a sell out crowd.

Why would a match between Australia and a minnow be a sell out  Australia will win anyways...unless the crowd knows otherwise ;)

well the australia -netherlands match in wc 2003 was as good as a sell out.

with australia losing to bangladesh....who knows whats next on the cards

Exclusive Interview

Just moments after the Draw was made which pitted the Netherlands against the mighty Australians.

Michael therton got a few brief words with the Holland all-rounder Schferli.

M.A- It must be daunting to be facing Australia so early in your tour, surely not the ideal start.

E.S- Well it will be great to play against the World Champions in front of a large crowd, i think that if we want to learn and improve then playing against the big teams with such quality as Asutralia can only help.

M.A- Do you have any plans on how to beat them?

E.S- We will just try and play our normal game which will be to get quick runs early on before settling down in the midle order and just keep the scorecard ticking over, hopefully leaving wickets in hand for the end.

M.A- Can you tell us how you hope to combat McGrath?

E.S- I will try to get in his face early on and stand up to him. All i know is that to beat these we will need a lot of luck and the Aussies to have an off day but it is not impossible, we must believe and take every positive out of this game we can.

M.A-Thanks a lot good luck.

E.S- Thanks we'll need it!

Viewers can view the game with regular update as from tommorow morning play starts at 10 am.

Karachi Groundsman Interview

Mark Nicholas has caught up with the groundsman,Asif Javed and asked him a little about the pitch.

M.N- So Asif how will the pitch play

A.J- Well the pitch is hard and flat it is also very dry the bowl will bounce very well nad come onto the bat very quickly.

M.N- Will there be any assistance for the spin bowlers at any stage?

A.J- Yes i bel;ieve that later n the day maybe after 70 overs of play the pitch will begin to offer a little for the spin bowlers.

M.N- Wot do you think would be a good score?

A.J- Well the average score on this wicket in ODI'S is around 270 so i would expect to see something like that however this is such a mis-match who knows what the score will be, if Australia get in and bat first i can see 350+ from them.

M.N- Thnaks a lot Asif enjoy the game.
