Day 1 Stumps Update...

Vaughan misses out on three figures
Michael Vaughan will feel extremely disappointed to have fallen short of another test hundred by just three runs. Glen McGrath is the wickettaker for the Aussies and it was sharp inswinging delivery that did the trick.

But no such problems for Kevin Pietersen
On the other hand Kevin Pietersen has completed yet another test century and continues to be main tormentor for the Aussies. Pietersen's innings has been typically entertaining and great to watch.

Clarke strikes with three late wickets including KPs
Michael Clarke has turned out to be key bowler for the Aussies picking up three wickets just before stumps on this first day. As a result the momentum which was with England for most parts has now shifted towards the home side.

The first to fall was Kevin Pietersen out caught behind for 114.

England's nightwatchman plan flopped big time when Plunkett sweep attempt ended in disaster.

And the Aussies struck gold when Freddie was out leg before wicket for just 5.
pic5ga4.jpg

So England at stumps have lost six wickets and are down to their last recognised batting pair. Collingwood has played well so far. For Australia, Michael Clarke was the surprise performer with the ball once again.

Unlucky for Vaughan to miss three figures.. but brilliant century from KP :clap England shd look for 350+ which is possible with Jones need to stay & Colly needs to play a crucial role!

just 3 runs short of his century vaughan will be very dissappointed but not too much as his team is performing well till Clarke got 2 quick wickets . Nice century for KP.

Day 2 Lunch Update...

McGrath picks up Jones' wicket
Glen McGrath picked up his third wicket of the innings when he had Geraint Jones caught by Stuart Clark at square leg off a very poor shot.

pic1wa2.jpg

Harmison falls to Warne
Steve Harmison in an attempt to sweep Shane Warne only managed to top edge the ball high in the air and straight down Michael Clarke's throat.

pic2go1.jpg

Fantastic Four for McGrath
Monty Panesar became McGrath's fourth victim of the innings after completely missing the line of the ball. McGrath is surely having a cracker of a final test match here in Sydnet.

pic3dw8.jpg

Crucial knock from Collingwood
Having to play along with the tail and with wickets falling regularly is indeed a tough situation but England's Paul Collingwood has excelled even then, scoring a crucial half century in the process. Brilliant stuff from the Durham allrounder.

pic5nw0.jpg

His innings finally ended when he went for a big one but couldnt quite get the middle of the bat to the ball and was comfortably caught by Stuart Clark. Collingwood made 75.

pic6av4.jpg

Kevin Pietersen top scored with 114. Vaughan made 97 while Collingwood scored 75.
McGrath was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets. Michael Clarke bagged three while the rest got one each. Australia conceded just seven extras.

My predictions coming true... wow,

* Joyce struggling to make runs
* England looking for 350+
* Colly playin a crucial role

All came true except for England winning this one as match is yet to go a long way :D England in challenging position and its upto bowlers.. If they leave Aussies to score 500 thats it.. It wud be tough for England... So bowlers have to do well now!

Also i liked the way u referred Colly,

Brilliant stuff from the Durham allrounder

rather than England allrounder ;)

Well yeah I often call the players by their county teams. And yes Collingwood's innings was crucial but one must not overlook Anderson's contribution. He had a partnership with Collingwood in this game and with Freddie in the previous match.

363 runs all out now its game on here in Sydney . Well played PC and KP and Anderson scored 17 vital runs which can prove decisive.
