Great innings from KP, you just wonder how much the drop of Flintoff will matter in the match situation. England still in trouble now, especially with only Jones and the bowlers left.

Fantastic presentation!

The 3rd Man's Chat
: Final Session

David Gower : Hello and Welcome to The 3rd Man's Chat for the final session show of the day. England are in some spot of bother in this match as Australia have bowled well after posting a good score of 419 runs. England however kept on losing wickets at regular intervals which led to more and more pressure and Australia took full advantage of it. Ricky Ponting was good as a captain today and he kept a tight field for all the batsman which made it even more difficult to score. Still Pietersen and Flintoff are not out and with some runs from the lower order batsmen England can still hope to reach close to the Australia's total. With me in the studio are Geoffrey Boycott,M.Nicholas and Naseer Hussain. Lets hear from our cricketing experts about their views and opinions about the days play.

Mark Nicholas : Great bowling by Australia today. They kept on troubling the England batsmen and got their wickets at regular intervals. Australia have a good chance to restrict England inside 300 if they bowl well tomorrow in the morning session. England are already on the backfoot and Australia should try to keep them on the backfoot tomorrow by picking up both Pietersen and Flintoff in the first few overs. If Australia can get a lead of about 100 runs in the 1st innings then its a good chance for them to win this match. Back to the morning session of the match, England bowled superbly in that session with Flintoff and Hoggard both picking up 3 wickets each in that session and completed the innings with 4 wickets each in the 1st innings . Lets take a look at Australia's Fall Of Wickets .

1st wicket of the day was of M.Clarke.
Soon after reaching his 50 Clarke seemed to lose his concentration and was failed to get bat on ball from a beautiful inswinger from Flintoff and was judged leg before wicket.

Next to depart was A.Gilchrist. That was a big wicket for England as Gilchrist is a dangerman and can take the match from you in just few overs. The ball was swinging in the morning and Flintoff did well to pitch the ball up and Gilchrist was late to play the shot and was another victim of Flintoff.

The 7th wicket of fall was of S.Warne. Warne lasted just 6 balls and scored just 2 runs before he tried to drive on through the covers and didn't pick the slower ball from Flintoff. Warne gave away a simple catch to Hoggard and Flintoff got his 4th wicket on the innings.

The next wicket to fall was of B.Lee. Lee played well but due to some intelligent bowling from Hoggard he lost his wicket. Hoggard was swinging the ball away from Lee and so he concentrated on the stump line and finally managed to find a way through the defense of Lee.

The came the big wicket of M.Hayden. Finally the fantastic innings came to an end with a brilliant catch from Kevin Pietersen. This catch can turn out to be the catch of the series.

The last wicket to fall was of G.McGrath.McGrath was lucky to survive of an edge but he repeated the same mistake on the next ball and lost his wicket. Hoggard also picked up his 4th wicket of the innings.

1st to depart was A.Cook.Great bowling by Glenn McGrath as he was bowling an accurate line and finally got his reward by bringing the ball into the left hander.

Vaughan was the next batsman to be dismissed.Poor stroke from Vaughan as he was looking in good tough and went for a drive off a slower delivery and gave a simple catch to M.Clarke.

Bell was out in the same over.Superb bowling by Lee bu picking up two wickets in an over. Lee bowled a quicker one right on the stumps and Bell was caught by surprised when he missed the inswinger from Lee.

Strauss departs after scoring 81..Strauss was playing really well in difficult situation but once again i will say that was just lack of concentration and he went for the drive and failed to pickup the doosra.

The last wicket to fall was of Collingwood.McGrath was brought in the attack at the end of the day and it took just 3 balls for him to take the wicket of Collingwood and put England in deeper trouble.

David Gower :We saw some good bowling by Australia but there was one man who was fighting hard for his county and went on score 81 runs even when his team was in trouble. Andrew Strauss is todays Batsman Of The Day.

G. Boycott: Strauss was brilliant today with his batting. He was not in good form before this match but todays innings will give him lots of confidence . He was batting nicely and even when wickets were falling from the other end he was batting nicely and just went after the bad balls. He was good with his technique and he waited for the ball to come on the bat which other England batsmen failed to do. Strauss was good on the offside but anything on the legs was smashed for four. Overall a good batting performance and a good partnership with Kevin Pietersen and after a good positive start to the Ashes we hope that we can see some good knocks from Strauss in the rest of the series.

davidgower4hm.jpg
David Gower :Today we saw some good bowling from Australia but one bowler troubled the batsmen with his pace and changed the match in favour of the Australian's in just 1 over. Brett Lee is todays Bowler Of The Day.

N.Hussain: Brett Lee was outstanding with his bowling today. He was very dangerous with the ball as he was bowling with good pace and was swinging it as well which makes it more difficult for the batsman. He picked up 2 wickets of Vaughan and Bell both in the same over which really turned the match in Australia's favour. Vaughan was disguised with a brilliant slower delivery and gave away a simple catch to Clarke while Bell was beaten with pace and swing. Overall Lee bowled well and was accurate with his line and length. He will be looking to pick up more wicket tomorrow morning and things will be very difficult for England if Lee strikes early.

marknicholasbr0.jpg
Mark Nicholas :All Australia need to do is to bowl England out quickly and get a huge 1st innings lead. England will have to bat well if they want to save this test match but according to me the match is in Australia's favour .
