3rd Test : Live from Perth ​

Pitch Report​

Ian Botham : Well all I can say is that the conditions are perfect for test cricket. Nice bright and sunny day but very strong breeze which might help the fast bowlers but can also affect the way they bowl as it would be difficult to control the swing. Now as far as the pitch is concerned its everything what you expect in Perth, lot of grass and its a hard surface. The carry here will be more than you will ever see on this trip of Australia. Its a good wicket for a fast bowler specially with the new ball as they can extract more bounce from this track but it can turn out to be a nightmare for the batsmen. So it will be a tricky decision but looking at the pitch and not the breeze I think the winning captain will decide to bowl first.

Toss

M.Vaughan : We will bowl first as the pitch is hard and has a good cover of grass on it which will help the ball to move around and ofcourse the batsmen will find it difficult to cope up with the bounce. Also the strong breeze will help the ball to swing in the air and causing more problems for the batsmen.

R.Ponting : : Not disappointed by losing the toss as we have good batting line up and it there won't be any problems for us once the openers settle in and give a good start which they have managed to do in the first two test matches.

David Gower :Both the sides have some changes in their lineups with Australia replacing M.Johnson as Stuart Clark comes back in the side after suffering from an ankle injury while England replace out of form Ian Bell with the pace of James Anderson. Surprised to see England replacing a batsman with a bowler but this might help them as Australia have a strong batting lineup and going with 5 bowlers is always the wise thing to do.
