WEST INDIES v ENGLAND 29/3/07.
This is it. Our first Super8 match and a chance to get top of the table and assert our dominance.
Mark: Well hello and welcome. Thank you for watching Channel Nine. Your in for a treat today if your an English fan. The first Super 8 match today against WI. Well hello Richie.
Richie: Hello Mark, yes I am excited about his match too. Lets look at the English line up.
Mark: This is a great line up and has caused a few surprises and upsets. Now lets have a look at the two teams compared:
Richie: Its pretty even and I can't pick a winner. I guess I'll pick England due to their form recently.
Mark: I'd say WI will win. Now to Tony and Mr. Ian Healey at the pitch.
Tony: Hello, yet again its a batting pitch. Poor for fast bowlers, very poor for spin, outfield is an average speed and the light is good.
Ian: Definately a batting first pitch. Now to Slats who is with Iloveireland.
Slats: Hi guys. Hello Ireland. You've been confident all series. Do you think it helps to be confident.
Iloveireland: Well first of all I'd like you point out to all those knobs who have called me up myself to try and do better than me. Confidence does help because you dont feel nerves.
Slats:... well thankyou Ireland. Oh look, theres the match referee. Its time to toss (I really need to think of a better way of saying that).
Match referee: Heads or Tails??
Lara: Heads
Match referee: Tails it is.
Lara: We'll bowl.
Iloveireland: Hehehaha ur idiots. Hehehaha
Match referee: Thats half your match fee gone Mr. Ireland.
Iloveireland: Screw you!!
Match referee: Make that your whole fee.

F. Seccombe and inform batsman Cook were to open the batting for us. We were hoping for a score of 300+ against such a strong batting line up. We struggled the first 10 overs only getting 40 runs but we luckily kept our wickets in hand.
We lost our first wicket in the 11th over. It was Cook caught behind for 31. Caught behind off a good ball. FOW: 1/49.
This brought Threscothick to the crease to steady the ship being a very experienced campaigner. He was in bad form though, and Iloveireland thought that if he didnt improve he wouldn't be playing next tour.
We lost Freddie the next over for 12. He did well though, he might be opening next game.
This brought one of England's finest Ian Bell to the crease. He was in alright form and this was his chance of a big innings.
We lost Threscothick in the 15th over for 6. That was really dissapointing due to his form and this put a lot of pressure of the next few batsman being Bell and Iloveireland.
Ian Bell started to power away getting 39 of 35 including 8 fours and seemed to be putting England back in front.
At the half way mark we were 3/129.
Disaster happened. Bell was bowled for 47 just when things were going well. We were running out of batsman and the bowlers were getting nervous. Pinch, Scid and Navin seemed like they'd have to do a lot. Pinch walked in. This was his chance of a big innings. He might get some big runs.
Well tbh, McPinch was bad. He got a first ball duck meaning the WI bowler was on a hattrick. Scid was to face it. Good luck scid!!
Scid looked pumped. The bowler came in and he pushed a sneeky single. Had a bit of talk with the bowler and the match continued as normal.
Iloveireland at the other end was doing well. Getting himself to 41 in the 35th over while the score was 5/182. Both batsman decided its time to go for it. We needed at least 275 we thought. Scid on the other hand had reached 36 very quickly.
Sadly Scid didnt make anymore, caught for 36. That brought Navin to the crease to try and get things going. There was a lot of pressure on Iloveireland now.
Iloveireland got his 50 off 61 balls. He was anchoring the innings. Navin was 21 of 10!!
After 44 overs we were 6/261.
We lost Navin for 45 of 32. Its was ok though, he had done well and had scored quickly. The bowlers could last the rest. FOW:7/287
Meanwhile Iloveireland was 8 from his hundred with 3 overs left.
He got it off the 3rd last ball with a brilliant four and he ended on 103*. Great work Ili, another great innings for the skip.
END OF INNINGS SCREENIES:
Well we got a good score for our bad start and a small collapse in the middle. Very good work from Iloveireland, Navin and Bell really kept us in that and Pinch, unlucky mate. I am sure you wont get to many more (I hope) ;p. Oh and I should mention, since I got a century I got a bonus the size of my match fee
P.S. if u like the extra comments post that u do or if u dont say u dont. Feedback makes the story better.

With West Indies having to chase a big total both teams were feeling a little confident. England because they batted well and got another total near 300 and West Indies because 300 has been chased a fair few times this series. Iloveireland decided to give Cricketmaddude and Amodh to open the bowling against Gayle and Smith.
West Indies were lucky in the first 5 overs to survive but were scoring quickly and when they seemed to be settling Amodh got us a much needed wicket. Smith caught by the skipper for 12 of 27. FOW: 1/56 off 9.3 overs
The first 10 overs went for 61 but Iloveireland still decided to take a power play since we had just got a wicket. Ireland also made a double change with the bowling. He brought Sid and Navin.
Scid got a wicket in his first over. It was the big wicket of Gayle who was on fire and really hurting the team. Gayle got 44 of 38. FOW: 2/48
With that wicket the game was pretty even with Chanderpaul and Lara at the crease.
Navin had got one in his 2nd over. It was Chanderpaul for 11. Great wicket Navin!! FOW: 3/75
Scid got his 2nd wicket in his 3rd over. The legendary Lara was gone. Caught on the boundary by Bell for 4 off 10. FOW: 4/83
We had now taken control and were looking like we were going to win again. They needed 216 off 34 overs and we took another powerplay
An over later Navin got his 2nd. Another catch, this time Seccombe. This was turning out to look like a slaughter. FOW: 5/92
With the last ball of his spell Sid got his 3rd wicket. Bravo out for 8 runs. Great ball. FOW: 6/124
We then made a change, Dr. Pepper and Amodh back in for a bowl. West Indies had their last two batters left and then the tail was left.
Dr. Pepper got a wicket with the first ball of his spell. The dangerous Ramdin out for 24. FOW: 7/124
We were on a team hattrick. We all moved in very agressively for the next ball. We wanted a wicket. We were pumped. The batsman got booed because he blocked it.
Amodh got his 2nd wicket in first ball back. Caught and bowled. Nice work. Only bowlers left!! FOW: 8/126 off 21.1 overs
Amodh got his 3rd wicket in his 7th over. Great ball. Bradshaw was caught by Trescothick. This left only the WI number 10th and 11th batsman left.
Next ball Amodh finished the innings with another wicket. His 4th. Clean bowled.
And thats it we won again. England who were ranked 7th in the world at ODIs were showing off their skills again. Amodh and Scid bowled brilliantly as well as Navin to win us another match
Richie: Another great win there wasn't it Mark??
Mark: Yes this England team are showing they are the buisiness with some great bowling and batting performances.
Richie: Do you think they can win this World Cup???
Mark: They can but I think South Africa and Australia will be too strong and probably India as well.
Richie: Lets look at the stats from the match
Mark: Well that really showed how badly the West Indies played tonight, very dissapointing.
Richie: Right Mark, out with it. Why are you bagging England so much. They played very well. West Indies werent at the top of their game but you are being very negetive against England.
Mark whispers to Richie: The old England coach gives we 1K every time I say something bad about England.
Richie whispers: Oh I see. Well stop it. Channell Nine pays you enough.
