Batty was caught in the outfield off a cover drive. Harmison was clean bowled and Anderson ran himself out. Hussain remained unbeated on 163 n.o. England score 578 from 159 overs. Sri Lanka will have to face two overs before the end of the day.

Final two overs of the session

England made a breakthrough in the first ball in the field. Anderson clean bowled attapatu, it looked to be going down the leg side, the batsmen chose to leave it and wham out goes leg stump. Harmison kept it tight for his over. Not the ideal start for Sri Lanka, but there 3 days to go in this game and anything can still happen, after all its a top track. England lost a few wickets by being clean bowled, and it looks like it best to pitch it full and vary your speed on this deck. Fraps wasn running for the first over, i cant tell you how annoying that is.

Bravo!! I guess you need post that scorecard in the records forum!!

keep it up m8!!

Great Innings by Nass, well supported by Johnson and Read.
Johnson picked up four wickets for me, so I guess hez doing pretty good.

What patch are you using?

Great result, dont think you beat any records though.

Day 3 Session 1

So after the early wicket Sri Lanka looked to block a few shots and play both of their batsmen in. A containing field from england, mixed with a few loose deliverys saw the batsmen raise their confidence early and make a nice recovery from that early wicket yesterday. Flintoff and Johnson were brought on to replace harmy and anderson. Flintoff bowled well and so did Johnson. Johnson did find a couple of edges. One through the cordon, but the second one went to first slip and Sri Lanka were 41/2 with the dangerous Jaysuriya losing his wicket. Sangakara and Jayawardene have built a nice 50 partnership, but will really need to keep going as they have a huge total to chase. Sri Lanka are 98/2 after 29 overs.

Day 3 Session 2

Englands seamers continued after the break, but like the Sri Lanka quicks, they looked ineffective. Unable to aquire any nicks or false shots. The wicket is still playing true, and it relys on a batsmen's error rather than a great delivery. Johnson has managed to aquire swing, but has been unable to bowl in the "right areas" in order to cause trouble to the batsmen. Sangakara is playing out of his skin, flying along at a healthy run rate, he has contributed most of the runs thus far. England will need to find an answer to him, or Sri Lanka will avoid the follow on with comfort. Tyhe pick of the England bowlers so far has to be Batty, who is currently keeping Giles out of the team. Although he has been expensive he has taken two wickets. At tea, Sri Lanka are 198/4 off 57 overs.

You seriously need to change patches for you next match.

You killing them

I think the match is pretty exciting. You need not have closely-fought encounters all the time. Sometimes you need to dominate the opposition, which to some extent is exactly what the_gas is doing. keep it up mate!!

And the scores are very much realistic within test match limits.
