Favourite Field settings...

G'day all.

Just wondering what everybodies farourite field settings were,
or are custom fields not widely used?

Are wickets what you are after or do you like to choke the batting
side to death? (my personal favorite  )

I set a field with only a mid-on, on the on-side. Most other fielders
are set forward of square.

With this set, i use an all pace attack to bowl just short of a length
with a delivery that moves away form the right hander.

This generally keeps batting scores down to 40/50 for 20 overs.

But I'm sure otherrs can and have done better right???????

have 2 fielders at cover/extra cover and 1 at deep cover. Have a backward point, backward square leg, mid off and on, and put the other 2 whereever you want.
Using a similar strategy to you I bowl full outside off stump and the cpu can only hit it to the cover fieldsmen or to the backward square. Any edges go to backward point. The mid off and on are for mistakes that get hit down the ground.
This field is applicable with the fielding restrictions.
If you bowl in the right place with this field the cpu will not be able to score so will hit over the top, straight down deep cover's throat.
I can usually restrict them to 30 in a 20 over match.

My other favourite field setting is the default spinner field with all the close in fielders.

For Pace/Medium:
I use all around the ring on the off side with 1 just forward of square leg and a squarish fine leg, if a batsmen is strong on the off side i of course put in a deep square leg. A short cover and/or 1/2 slips

For Spin Bowling:
Fielder at Straightish Deep Mid Off, Bat'Pad, Short mid on and off. 3 slips and a fine leg, usually one of the slips come out and i put them in a forward square leg.
In Test Matches thought i do the most attacking field there and that kills the batmen.

Great idea for a topic :)

Folks,
For the sake of total newbies like myself, can you folks also post the screen caps of the field settings as well? I am new to this game and find terms like cover, silly point etc very hard to understand. As they say, pictures speak a thousand words...
