Carey way ahead of Franklin but franklin still has room to improve.

If carey was as big a glory hog as franklin he would of had the same kind of stats.
Anytime Franklin is near the ball within 60metres from goal all he thinks about is hogging it an having a shot.
Even when hes got 3 players surrounding him he still chooses to try an take them on an have a shot instead of passing to the guys open.
Franklin = biggest hog ever in the history of AFL but geez hes good to watch :)

How exactly is Carey 'way ahead' of Franklin? Anything Carey can do, Franklin can do, even perhaps better?

Are you saying Carey's not a bigger glory hog then Franklin? Haven't you ever heard of 'Pagans Paddock'? The focus was solely on Carey.

2 goals, 2 goal assists in the Grand Final, BTW. ;)

There's no finals in the English Premier League. It's just a league, and the team that finishes top of the said league after 38 games wins the trophy. Then there are various cup competitions outside the league, the main one, which you've probably heard of, the FA Cup. Possibly the biggest cup final in the world, not in terms of attendance, but in terms of global showings. It's transmittted across the globe, and although the attendance at Wembley wasn't as large as the AFL Grand Final, a game between Portsmouth (mid-table Premier League) against Cardiff (mid-table in the division below) had an attendance of 89,874.

And yeh, we have 60million people living in the UK. It's a far, far, far smaller place though, and planning permission is incredibly difficult to get for a massive stadium. The price for a new stadium is also massive, with the New Wembley costing over ?800million. If we had the space and the finance to build MCG-esque stadiums then the attendances would be massive, and the grounds would sell out every week, this is proven by teams like Newcastle, who have been incredibly poor, with massive hate for the new Owner and the director of football having an average attendance of 47,629, filling over 90% of the stadium.

Thats boring as tripe... I cant believe that, further indication that there are limited blockbusters in EPL.

Nothing beats the Grand Final and the build up to it. It must be a massive anti-climax without finals series.

No it hasn't, and we have, I've made a new thread for EPL vs AFL ;) So let's discuss this further in there, there's been very little input from Aussies though, which is dissappointing considering the effort I put in for the first post.

You're wrong though. The Premier League is the most exciting league in the world, the relegation battle normally goes to the last day of the season, and the big games between Manchester United/Liverpool/Arsenal and Chelsea are always massive events on Sky Sports, and the results often detirmine the title. It's far from an anti-climax, the leagues so exciting that it doesn't need a "finals series". The best team over the entirity of the season wins the league, that's the way a "league" should work.
