Is it me, or is it almost impossible to win these games. My record so far is Won 1, drew 10 lost 1. Even on uneven pitches they bat like its a top deck. One day games are easy, with the default somerset squad (no signings) i am top of everything, and won the 20-20. Championship, one place above relegation.

i used to have the same problem. this is why its well worth gettin quality bowlers as your overseas players

Yes i agree, im playing as Notts and i really struggle to bowl sides out in the
2nd innings even on worn out pitches, ive tried everything ! bowling aggressive/defensive/batmens weakness, but cannot stop opposition getting large 2nd innings totals.
What annoys me is i sometimes bowl out the opposition for 200-250 in the first innings, but using the exact same bowling tactics the opposition makes 350+ on a last day pitch.

2 overseas bowlers or 1 good overseas spinner is essential in the first few years unless you're playing with the great teams like Lancashire

The only thing that I can say is if you have a strong batting line-up, then try to play more aggressively. What I do is bat on 4 bars then when they have a 50 push it to 5 which normally means I'm scoring at 4-4.5 an over which does leave me a day and a half to bowl a side out.

Of course its possible to win in County. One thing I find key is having a decent Medium Pacer, they can get you bundles of wickets, even batsmen who bowl medium are worth giving a few overs in most matches. I've also had some success in getting a couple of quick wickets with batsmen who bowl spin when the ball is old too.

The other think is not to go on for too long in your first innings, remember going past 400 gets you nothing bonus point wise. If you are going to go past it make sure you have plenty of time to bowl the other side out again, at least 5 sessions.

i had a terrible 1st season with lancashire and got relagated from division 1 while doing amzingly well in the one day games! but after getting promoted again the next year im doing quite well now

it's been pretty hard for me aswell, but i find that having 4 frontline bowlers is the best idea, and a couple part timers, i play as Hampshire, i have mascarenhas, tremlett, tomlinson and shane bond, then just get a few overs from KP and others

It doesn't help when you don't have any seamers who can get wickets. Essex seamer's are hopeless. Napier has done okay, up until the last game. I'm relying on Kaneria, with Flower and Middlebrook (will give Tim Phillips a go soon) to get wickets. Though Palladino has come in recently and done well, and promptly got injured. To sum up:

I'm struggling in Div 2 with Essex to bowl anyone out.

SS me too i relied on Napier and Kaneria to get my wickets and Cook is a really slow batsmen he got 80 off 234 in a CC 2 Game

well i am trying to understand this game for past few days. .and playing with gloucestershire, my fav team,. ..but they suck bigtime :p. it was very hard to play initially. and cpu looks like godly.

now what i've understood is. .try avoiding bowlers with low bowling averages and attack other bowlers. also if the fielding is tight do not go to very defensive mode. pick bowlers with lowest bowling averages and economic rate combination to do well.

play as lancashire, they have some quality seamers, like kyle hogg, mullaney, mahmood, anderson, fred, tom smith and a good spinner gary keedy

In my first season I didn't win a single FC game with Yorkshire. Then again I did play all my youth players for the 2nd half of the season.

It is very hard to win games in your first season but I did learn something after the first 9 CC games I played when I was Middlesex. Bat second and pack in a lot of Batsmen, all the way down if possible because it is very unlikely that you will have the attack to take wickets in the first season. This did work in some ways, as I won 5 out of my last 7 games.
