?Future is important but not at the cost of present?, says Habibul Bashar

I though Bashar deserved to be dropped from the ODI team. But I think it was harsh to drop him from the Test team. He is one of (if not the) highest achieving Bangladeshi Test cricketers, I believe, and they should have stuck with him and his experience there.

Of course, when you're Bangladesh, you cannot afford to go around dropping players on the basis of age. Experience will count for a lot, especially when you're getting started in world cricket. So maybe he shouldn't have been dropped from either team, but it would've been strange being captained by someone years younger than him.

:laugh

May be there were 2 reasons for dropping him

1.) Poor batting form
2.) Being captained by someone who is 10+ years younger than him

First ODI, Bang vs. Aus.
Batting failure.

Just my point. Bashar might have been useful in these situations, but he was just in horrid form when he was dropped.

Actually it's very simple, Bangladesh can win some matches once both bowlers and batsmen will perform their duties and play responsibly.

It was stupid to drop Bashar. When India dropped Ganguly and Dravid for the CB series, they had the firepower and bench strengt to accomodate - Bangaldesh don't.

Their first class structure sucks, and their talent is diminishing by the day. They have to get him back.

Most of the Bangladeshi people I have seen are blaming Jamie Siddons for this condition of the team and not Ashraful! But I cannot say if Ashraful is the only one guilty in here, or I don't blame Siddons either. Both of them just cannot do some magic and make the other players perform. Every single player have to know their duties and responsibilities.

From what I've seen from the Indian youth, I am really impressed how they have made the seniors look funny in the ODI format. I wish our youth were also like yours.
