It will. If you read that article you have posted, it says the ODI league will run from 2011 to 2014 and will culminate in the crowning of an ODI league champion. It says it will run seperate from the official cricket World Cup (where you have a winning team crowned as World Champion). This means you will have an ODI league champion and a World Champion, both of which are the same thing but just with different names. They will eat into each other's value heavily because teams that dont win the World Cup will know that they can be the ODI league champion and vice versa.

I actually meant it wont affect as in, it won't replace the world cup, but yeah the value of world cup could reduce.

Yeah , its better one of them stays and the other gets dumped . Meaningless to have 2 competitions bearing the same meaning with different names .

Yeah, I don't think it has been officially sanctioned, yet. Or at least I haven't seen anything about it.
