I am facing a peculiar problem while playing cricket
2002 by E A Sports.
The game hangs while in play. I have tried all
solutions. I tried updating the drivers, re-installing
the game, re-installing Direct X8, defragmenting the
hard drive, running scan disk, and even reducing the
hardware accelaration. But nothing seems to work!!
Please help!!
:(

Try Changing the Filtering mode.
I have it set to Bilinear and I experience the same problem at other modes.

PC config:
AMD 2000 + processor
Asus A7N266 Motherboard with NVIDIA nForce 220-D chipset
and Integrated GeForce 2 Graphics Processor Unit
256MB DDR RAM
80 GB HDD

1. If you are using XP and have Win98 also try it in 98.
2. If you are using any gameplay patches such as Ravi's you might get random crashes.
3. Make sure you have no overheating or SMPS problems.
4. Finally, its a long shot but you might try upgrading to Directx9

No Windows XP or 98. I have Windows 2000.
No game play patches installed.
No SMPS problems.
I have installed the latest display driver for NVidia.
Tried changing the Filtering mode to Bilinear.
Set Anti-aliasing to 2x. But, no change.
The game still hangs !!! :devilish:

Set Anti-aliasing to 2x. But, no change.

Antialiasing will only make your game slower but removes jaggies.

The anisotropic filtering fix was for the people having problems with the menus .

I've encountered a few cases for people using XP and 2000 who had lockups but never found out why

By the way you should set anisotropic filtering in your Geforce control panel not ingame.

Hi guys,
Been there Done that
But, got nowhere!!!
Anti-aliasing = 2x
Anisotropic Filtering = 2x (Set both in GE Force control panel
and in the game)
Even tried lowering the game resolution.
No solution!!!

Well, I guess its time for me to officially give up ! :D

Well, the monitor is abt 5 yrs old.
Will that matter??
I am not able to play for even two
overs without the game hanging!!! :helpme:

Some older monitors do have problems with newer graphics cards. I encountered this problem at work recently. Nearly every 3d game crashed on the customer's 5 year old monitor, yet ran perfectly on full settings on our brand new monitor.

If you have access through a friend or family member to a really new monitor, give it a try.
