The reason I made this poll is because they both have similiar records, meaning their tests are way ahead of their OD.

yea but Hughes hasn't played any ODIs, or not even close to the amount of tests Gambhir played.

Hughes can't be God, you have to do X amount of Hero Honda commercials before you can be considered a God.

Gambhir hands down. Don't really see the point of this thread. Hughes is yet to play any ODI or international T-20, and has an experience of just 5 matches in Test cricket. Whereas, the guy he is being compared with has performed consistently and steadily in all three forms of the game over a period of two years. What's the basis of the comparison/poll then?

A kid, who lost steam when it was most needed, being compared to the ICC Test Player of the Year, who has an outstanding ODI record & a phenomenal T20 record as compared to Hughes makes this comparison a bit laughable :sarcasm

TBH these comparison threads are starting to annoy me. We saw how the comparisons to Bradman might have affected Hughes, and several other young players have suffered from unnecessary comparisons to great players before.

It's unnecessary pressure, and means absolutely nothing.
