I think the points should also take into account the rankings like the current ranking system, you should be losing more points if you lose to a lower ranked team and be gaining more points if you win against a higher ranked team. The difference should be if a team loses in Overseas but is winning at home then the points should be divided in the ratio of home wins and away wins. You shouldn't just sit at the top of the ladder just because you win at home. The team which wins more matches at home should lose significant amount of points if they lose away series.
