Geraint Jones

Keep him in the side every one has a bad or in this case an awful match.

You cant just drop a guy because of one bad (awful) game. Dropping him now is now going to do his confidence any good.

Here is a joke:

What do Geraint Jones and Michael Jackson have in common?

They don't have reason to wear their gloves! ;)

He only dropped 2 catches. If it had been Gilly and Ponting i would be lambasting him. But it was Gillespie and mcGrath.

Hey that joke I got emailed two days ago and was in the Herald Sun today...its terrible...keep Jones in... England have done well by sticking with players through thick and thin

Jones and Gilo should keep there places. Otherwise Matty Prior should be number 2. He can keep and bat-unlike Read.

Drop a player after 1 poor match against the best team in the world???
U guyz are thinkin the way a Pakistani selector would think!!!
His keepin has improved a lot since he came into the side, esp after he worked with Russel.

My point is, that he has dodgy foot movement and isnt all that good. The thing about Gilchrist is correct, and him only scoring 39 runs thanks to the wonderful bowling of Flintoff isnt good at all, but he has already proved himself at international level, and Jones hasn't...

Your all being to harsh on Geraint Jones here, look he wasnt the only one to have a poor game and it makes me sick just to see a stupid topic like this one bad game? no one is perfect are they?

You got that from the Herald Sun,didn't you?C'mon,i'm sure you didn't have to stoop that low to get a joke!;)

i think we should stick with the same team because it is giles home ground which will help him because he plays there almost week in week out and will know where bowl it also g jones should be there because although you say his glovework is poor he has taken more catches on average than read and prior in every form of the game and as for his batting look at the opening 5 batsmen in the first innings he scored more than all combined his batting will come good dont forget this was his first match against australia. also it the consistency of selection which has brought us success over the last 2 years.

If he fails again in the 2nd test then maybe its time for him to be dropped. This means he should score runs and do well keeping.

I think he will play in the entire ashes.England havent had any other keeper for a while. So they'll stick with him.Maybe T'cothick should keep.
