Im about to purchase a GM Duelist Original LE in the coming days. I was just wondering if anyone on the forums has actually used the bat or does own the bat. If so i would like to hear your opinions on the bat. As in how it hits the ball and whether you've encounted any problems with the bat breaking and such. Thanks in advance for your help.

I remember Drewska had a GM duelist, Not sure about the Original LE. But Gunn and Moore are great bats my only grief with them is the lack of meat (Bit of a slogger myself).

It should be great, It is a Gunn & Moore.

I don't have one or have any intentions to buy one, but I would applaud your decision to buy this bat. Gunn and Moore are a quality brand, but, as Langerrox said, they aren't really for the slogger, more for people that like to play the ball along the ground.

I am lucky enough to have played with this bat, due to the fact i kinda misplaced my Kookaburra for a short period. It is my cousins and he swears by the GM range. Everything is Gunn and Moore, but i have to admit, i really liked the bat. OK i agree, if you are a bit of a slogger then they really arnt much good, a player type like Trescothick who is about hitting the ball along the ground and looking for anything BUT arial shots, then this is the bat for you. Otherwise id say somthing like a GN or Kookaburra :p

GM bats are great; I'm a number 11 so I suppose you shouldn't be taking my advice on bats, but all GM's i've played with are very sturdy, comfortable and ergonomic to use. I use a Woodworm though and I love that.

Off topic speaking about Woodworms, but i do really enjoy using the bat, but the only thing which i hate, in the league i play in, EVERYBODY uses woodworm stuff, bats, gloves, helmets! So it kind of puts me off when everyone has the same. Like i said i really enjoy using the bats, and i have to admit i do try to nick it off my mate during net practise.

Going on what i said before, and i forgot about Woodworm, Id choose the GM if you need somthing light, otherwise try to get hold of
  1. Woodworm
  2. Kookaburra
  3. GN

I had a duelist 303... pretty ordinary but I suppose a better version would do well. I have used a purist original le so they must be quite similar.

I'd still go with a GM though. I love my Woodworm but i'm a tailender and I all I do is slog so the lightweight capabilities of Woodworm's are perfect for me. GM seems to be a perfectly balanced bat and i'd recomend anyone to at least try them.

GM bats are great. My friend has one for tape-ball cricket, and I love it. it is a hard ball bat, but a small size, and old.
But name doesn't make much difference. The bat I use is one bought off the streets off Kashmir for 150 rupees :p Great bat too...

yh i have to say im a GM man, if not all most of my bats are GM and yes they are great bats good if your a number 1-5 or somthing you can hit sixes with them no doubt but it takes power and strengt but ithink its one of the best bat makers hope you enjoy batting with it.

Too be honest the best bats are hunts county the edges are huge and you can block the ball for 4 :p.

Some bats you can swing and you do nothing but swing, and the bat does the rest, taking the ball to the boundry!

I feel really heavy bats are useful in tight games, i have one of the heaviest bats i could find which i use for games against top of the table teams. It just gives me a bit more satisfaction if i can get a decent score. If im playing a three day game, i always like to set up camp and use a medium/heavy bat. Somthing which im not gunna smack the ball too hard and risk getting out, but i dont want somthing which i have to do all the work, bats such as Woodworm are perfect for what im talking about.

GM are a great range and you wont go much wrong!

OMG, man i cant believe i forgot about Hunts,

Yeah, these are amazing, the next bat i buy is going to be one of these, i love em :p.......

Although i dont like the design, but im not buying it for its uglyness :p

I'm going for an MRF Wizard at the end of this year, anyone had any experience with one? I just wanted something different, rather than having the same bat as everyone else. Also, as two of the worlds best batsmen (Brian Lara and Sachin Tendulkar) use this bat, or one similar to it, there can't be anything wrong with it (however, it won't catapult me to the England side anytime soon :p ).

As for GMs, I'm not too sure, all that I know is that the bat I used this year was my dads old GM Cannon, great bat, a real sloggers bat. I compared it at my cricket club, and the edges were thicker than some other bats middles!! However, they don't manufacture them (I think) any more (this ones old, its got that old wood colour you get with handed down school equipment, and its got an old label).

i've got a GM bat it's greaat, :)

I have a Woodworm Torch doesn't get much use as the I get bowled through the gate pretty much every game :p
