SO Iam very optimistic of getting a patchThe Sims Makin' Magic (PC) VIDEO - Graphic Corruption with Intel Chipset
? Question
? I have graphic corruption with an Intel 810 Chipset.
? Answer
? Try editing the shortcut to The Sims.
To do this:
1. Right-click on your desktop and choose New > Shortcut.
2. Click browse and find the game directory (C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims).
3. Find the icon that looks like a blue stop sign with lighter blue people on it. It should be called \"sims\" or \"sims.exe\".
4. Click on the icon and choose Open/OK at the bottom.
5. Click Next twice and you should see the icon on your desktop.
6. Right-click on the icon and choose properties.
7. There should be a highlighted target line. Click in the line with your mouse.
8. Hit the End key on your keyboard to move your cursor to the end of the target line.
9. Add a space and then \"-w\" without the quotes.
Start your game using this icon. If that doesn't help try:
1. Repeat steps 6-8 above.
2. Add a space and then \"-nosound\" without the quotes.
Restart your game using this shortcut and it should no longer experience this issue.
If the above fails, try disabling AGP Texture Acceleration in DXDIAG. To do this, follow the steps below:
1. Click start
2. Click run
3. Type DXDIAG
4. Click \"OK\"
5. Left-click on the \"Display\" tab
6. Click on the button next to AGP Texture Acceleration that reads \"Disable\"
7. Click \"Exit\".
NOTE: This may cause undesired results with other games. Be sure to reset this to \"Enabled\" before playing any other games. Try this as a last resort.
