gunn and moore diffrences

After reading a few posts on this forum about bats i think i have made my mind up
i think i am going to go for a gunn and more purist as my next bat can anyone tell me what the difference between the original and 909 is .
it seems to me that its is purely cosmetic the 909 seems to have minor blemishes
Is the 909 as good for batting as the original.
if you think i am making a mistake with the purist please do say

original= grade 1 english willow

909= not so good willow, not so well put together, not as nice a bat

Original L.E= the best bat money can buy!!!!
