Ohh man!!! what a start of test career by Umar Akmal as he started his one day career on a high.Hitting 129 runs on his test debut becomes the 11 pakistani batsman to score a hundred on his debut.Plays with the right technique and good foot work. His ability to dominate the bowlers makes him more dangerous and his defence is also very strong.

As Umar Akmal Started his Career Do you think He can be the man to be Dominate the next decade?

Waaaaaay too early to say that. Just one good innings under his belt and not even vs the best bowling attack going around in international cricket. He does have potential though, but then again they are lots of youngsters going around at the moment with potential

It seems that his uni-brow is the source of his strength. Much like Sampson, if he shaves it off, he will lose his power hitting ability.

I knew he had something special about him after his first few ODIs. Looked pretty good on Test debut but he was a bit loose so we will have to see if he can keep playing in that fashion.

The ultimate test for every single sub-continent batsman: The first tour of Australia.

As far as I can remember only one batsman, by the name of Sachin Tendulkar has scored big runs on their debut down under.

If Akmal can score runs this summer he's on the path to glory. Fortunately for him Pakistan aren't playing at the Gabba or the WACA.

Really cannot wait, he seems like an exciting young batsman. If his performances in the 'A' tour are anything to go by, we should be in for a ripper.

I take a different view on him - he's a little lucky.

Talented, yes. Hard-working, I'd say so.

But that six he hit off Vettori just now. The situation just did not demand that, it could have EASILY been a top edge that results in his dismissal.

Was not impressed by that shot.

he is a good player but some times plays silly shots when not needed but i guess he can be a great player in some time

It's the way he plays, similar to what Gilchrist use to do. If he starts playing more cautious and second guess his judgment then he could end up getting out a lot earlier.
