I have recently installed Picasa 2 on my PC. I wanted to create an album in it, of some pictures, which were all in one folder. After successfully creating the album, I didn't notice much difference between having a separate album or having the photos in one folder. So, I deleted the album. This resulted in the removal of all the pictures in the original folder as well! So, I tried using some data recovery softwares to recover the pictures, but none of these software detected any deleted files in that folder! So, I want to recover those files. Can it be done?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. :)

The answer is yes and no. With recovery tools you can see the file names but since those particular sectors on the hard-drive must have data written on to quite a few times already by now so chances of recovery are pretty slim.

But the problem is that there are no files being shown by the recovery softwares at all, so, even that slim chance becomes unlikely.

Try using a paid software many freewares don't detect much files.

I think you must try finding lost data rather than recover files. I personally like Drive Rescue although I guess there are many better free recovery softwares available.

I don't think that the photos would be that important for you to go for paid recovery softwares. However, if they are then you must go for them....
