HELP!

i have a weird problem which i cudnt find on any posts! someone please help me!

In the middle of a game, just when the bowler starts his runup, my bastmen suddenly start moving to the extreme right or extreme left of the crease. Sometimes i cant even get them back in the line of the ball!

Can any1 tell me what to do?

Are you usin a joypad or joystick? If so, make sure it is calibrated properly.

hmmm.... does it happen anywhere other than Cricket 2002?

huh! no! KB's not stuck if thats what u mean.
Also it happens only after a few overs are bowled. Happens in the nets also after a while. The batsman just glides on to one side of the crease. Sometimes the error goes away after a few deliveries, other times it doesnt! Weird!

EA Sports has made every effort to make Cricket 2002 as realistic as possible

Yeah, I was just having a laugh, mate....

My initial reaction to your dilemma would have been the same as andrew's, namely that a poorly calibrated gamepad or joystick of some sort would be the culprit. Even though you are using the keyboard to play, do you have a USB game controller even plugged in to any of your ports? If so, I would certainly recommend disconnecting it. Maybe try plugging in a second keyboard and giving it a go with that? Failing that, re-installation of the software might be the best way to go.

With regards to the numerous patches available for Cricket 2002, I sensed early on that multiple downloads would be required in order to bring the game to the way I like it, so was mindful to burn all of the patches I need onto a separate CD. Should you find yourself indeed having to reinstall, I'd certainly recommend this course of action just in case you find yourself going through this again in the future. Best of luck in getting your prob solved.

Thanks! i dont have anything installed on the USB ports etc... sometime i attach my camera to its thats all. I think its something to do with those keys that shudnt be on the same line etc. ie the keys layout.

its a mooo! irritating thing and i hope it somehow stops cos it ruins the game hafway thru....

I think i know your problam :blink:
try waiting for the batsman to stop tapping his bat befor you chose your shot.
Because i think that this problam will happen when you are trying to play a square drive/cut shot or flick off the pads/pull shot.
But remember (using the defult keyboard setup) that until the batsman stops tapping his bat the keys a and d are used to shift the player around on the crease

Thanks Gily, but i dont think u got my problem.....
What exactly happens is ... just as soon as one ball is completed and the action ends, when u press key1 to start facing the next delivery, the bowler starts his run up and the batsman just glides to the side (mostly right side) without me pressing any keys.... so it has nothing to do with the shot selection keys etc.

Don't take it as a joke

1) Turn your keyboard upside down and shake it to take out any contents that might be choking the keys.

2) Uninstall the keyboard drivers and install again or check for any keyboard conflicts

3) Also check your control.inf file for any damages

4) Last but not the least scan your harddisk.........

take the data folder out of the game and then do it
