Your Cricket How do you pick yourself up after a dropped catch?

Just gotta get your entire body behind it then lad. Our outfield is dominated by two football pitches at either end. When the football season starts, it gets really cut up; couldn't tell you the number of hits I've taken to the knees, chest, chin etc.

I don't drop catches but I misfield a lot. I find it very difficult to judge the bounce sometimes. May be because I play in the unrolled/rough outfields or maybe its just lack of concentration.
Yeah, some grounds over here are quite uneven like that because they serve as rugby grounds in the winter. My ground fielding has improved a lot this season, in previous years I've been pretty poor. Concentration is pretty important and also getting very low to the ground, nothing worse than having one roll straight under your hands.

Ever went down on long barrier and ball jumped over your shoulder and went for 4?

It did not. I have both a long tongue and a long reach. I ran the fecker out, too.

How do you pick yourself up after you drop a catch on Debut?

I actually did that in my Uni match debut.

Ignored it, tried to field as normal. We won by a crushing margin.

I was itching to get a bowl so I could make up for it. But didn't. So I'm determined to pwn with the ball or bat when I finally get an opportunity.

I should field better next time too. Need some practice.

I wonder What Kamran Akaml would have posted in this thread if he ever came across this thread and could read and write English.

You get up and go drop another one. $500 USD per drop, can't afford to be wasting time.

Yeah, the best way is to tell yourself it's only a game and that you'll get the next one. Although I don't put many catches down anyway so I probably wouldn't have the best advice on this one. Haven't dropped a catch this year but yeah, I play in a pretty low senior grade cause I'm only 15 so it doesn't really matter. I get more annoyed when I get a catch put down off my bowling rather than dropping a catch myself. :p
