From like 10 matches though, he's a good batsman, but has yet to prove himself as world class.

He is very good but I name at least 20 batsmen that are better than him

heres my ten better than him.

1.Ricky Ponting
2.Sachin Tendulkar
3.Adam Gilchrist
4.Brian Lara
5.Mohammed Yousaf
6.Matthew Hayden
7.Rahul Dravid
8.Michael Hussey
9.Kevin Pieterson
10.Mahela Jawardene

here's my list of betters (not in order):
KP
Ponting
Shoaib Malik
Collingwood
Gilchrist
Lara
Tendulkar
Chanderpaul
Jayasuriya
Jayawardene
Sangakarra
hussey
Hayden
Clarke
Symonds
Dravid
Ganguly
Fleming
Gayle
Kallis
Gibbs
Smith

point made :p

I can name a whole load... Best Batsmen in the world... arite dont get too emotional go and start watchin some cricket first

He's a good player, no doubt. Definatley not the best in the world by a long way. I'd say he probably is in the middle range of players currently in test cricket. Definatly not in the top half in terms of class and talent, but not in the bottom half.

Being a little harsh there. His better then Fleming, Malik, Chanderpaul and Ganguly.

He probably would've played about 80 matches already if he played for any other country.

have you seen Chanderpaul recently? Against India he was brilliant! Ganguly might touch a nerve with a few Indian fans :p

i dont rate Hodge. he was good at lancashire but i think we need to wait and see what he can do at Test & One Day Level

Brad Hodge would be a regular in any other international team. He is just like Juninho from Brazil couldnt get a game with Brazil but would get a game with any other country.

He has a lot to prove before you can call him better then Fleming, Ganguly and Chanderpaul ben. Malik, well i'd kind of agree there. Based on current form, maybe, but not overall.

I think thats the point really. The answer is he defiantly isn't the best batsman in the world. Not by a long way. I think this stupid question is answered.
