Hello there,

I have xbox 360 but no Ethernet/Lan connection and a macbook air, is there anyway i can connect my xbox to the internet. I tried getting a USB to lan adapter to make it work with mac but it doesnt. Not been able to download teams and patch. Is there any other way i can connect my xbox to internet. I have a USB internet dongle too can i use that in anyway to plug it into the xbox and get net. Sorry for being a noob. This is the adapter I bought for my macbook air.

How is the MacBook connected? Can't you just plug it in to that router?

if not you can share the macs wifi. There are guides on teh intrawebs
 
It's only a small file so if you have a smartphone you could use that as wifi hotspot
 
Most Xboxes don't have built in Wifi.

Only the old ones don`t (the white ones). The slim ones have it built in.

You'll need an Ethernet cable between the Xbox and the LAN adapter.
Find the IP address of your LAN adapter and set the Xbox to be on the same subnet.
Set the gateway for the Xbox to be the IP address of the LAN adapter.

That's the gist of it. here are several guides on the internet. Almost all will be for PC but in theory it should still work - you're just using your computer as a fancy router.


I feel your pain - over the years I've had to set up some pretty weird configurations to get my Xbox online.
