I'm playing Australian domestic, and it's getting painful watching the national team being flogged by all and sundry. But I haven't been offered the Test captaincy yet, so there's nothing I can do about it.

Does anyone have any tips on how to become Test captain? Or is it possible to use Artmoney or similar to edit my way into the captaincy?

If I don't intervene, Australia's going to run out of players that average 50+ with the bat or less than 30 with the ball. It's obscene.

Can't you choose to be AUS captain at the start? Or win the some comps with your dom team.

Yea but he wants to become it in his current game and not have to start again.

As far as I know there is no way to edit yourself into that position so you'll just have to try really hard to win some competitions :p

lol, i was finishing 6th with south australia in all competitions (on normal difficulty) and I was offered the job last season so I took it because I had enough of getting dominated in the Domestic season.

If you can bowl a bit of spin I might be able to help you get in the team at the very least.

Twenty years of following Australian cricket means I lack the well-rounded skill set of the English fan, with their cheery pessimism and well-developed time-passing repertoire of songs and drinking games. I lack even the Indian fan's unbending faith in Tendulkar (our Tendulkar is broken). My only real ability is to "confidently expect a win, no matter the odds".

This isn't really going so well, so you can imagine how painful it is for me to watch Australia losing in real life AND in ICC2010. Just can't seem to get the captaincy. My domestic side has been carving it up - we've won the Sheffield Shield for two years running, plus one each of the limited overs titles. I still can't get a guernsey in the Test side, though! I feel like David Hussey...

Speaking of which, Mike Hussey's average has crept back up towards 60. His knack of scoring big when the team loses holds true in ICC as well.

Just ran a test on a new game, using the editor to boost all of Tasmania's player stats sky-high (so I could auto-win every match) and then upgrading to the latest patch (so I could take advantage of the 'fixed Test captaincy threshold').

Turns out it takes three years of winning absolutely everything all the time to get offered the Australian Test captaincy. And three years of the opposite to lose it, presumably ;)

Then you have to win everything though. Be South Australia, then you only are asked to captain Australia at the end of each season provided you've won one game at least :p

to get test captancy, you have to score "points" which the game allocates for winning games and over time. so basically, it takes about 3 seasons to have the nessesary points to get the captancy, and once you get it you cant lose the points, so basically they wont ever take it off you.

but the game allocates these points over time too, so you could lose every single game and still get it by around 4th season.
