Mahela at 3 and Tendulkar at 4 for me.

Zaheer's outclassed Ishant throughout as well, although he hasn't played that much.

This T20 award, is it just for one performance or consistent ones? If just for one, can we see which performances they are being nominated for? Cause then I want to see Yuvi win for his six 6s off Broad. What an effort.

....you're joking. That was two years ago. And I'm sure its for consistent performances through the year, that's the only thing that makes sense.

Andrew Strauss (vc)
Sachin Tendulkar
M Jayawardene
JP Duminy
MS Dhoni (c) + (wk)
Stuart Broad
Ishant Sharma
Dale Steyn
Harbhajan Singh
M Muralitharan

Duminy?
No room for Samaraweera, de Villiers, Sarwan, Clarke? No room for Johnson's 80 wickets in the past year??

by the way, why doesn't Duminy qualify for the emerging player category?

he made his test debut after Ryder. Ok he was in ODIs down the order for a quite a while, but Ryder also played ODIs before way over a year ago.

Quite a while ago? Duminy made his international debut five years ago.

Get back on topic please. We're not going through this ridiculous India v Australia flamewar again.

Daang, I had the flamethrower locked and loaded.

Idc, Duminy is an emerging player. He made his test debut recently and sparkled in AUSTRALIA. Fantastic effort, what a knock with the tail!

My test XI for the year -

Gautam Gambhir
Greame Smith (c)
Kumar Sangakkara
Sachin Tendulkar
Shiv Chanderpaul
JP Duminy
MS Dhoni
Mitchell Johnson (Pre Ashes)
Harbhajan Singh
Ishant Sharma/Zaheer Khan
Dale Steyn

Lacks a quality allrounder and a 5th bowling option. SRT might have to do alot of work, but that's all I got right now.

That's team for last year. This year Strauss and Samaraweera are best test batsman. Followed by Clarke and Gauthi.

Sammy's only performed at home against weaker opposition though. Gauti's easily best of this year, that hundred against the Kiwis was awesome.

I'll take your word on Strauss though. But I can't see him beating Smith. Smith has averaged over 64 playing in various conditions against quality opposition like Australia. Plus he's a far better captain.
