Host Nations: South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe


The southern part of Africa welcomes the cricketing world again after two decades. With lush green outfields, high-altitude pace tracks, and unpredictable spin havens, this World Cup promises thrill, emotion, and redemption.

Tournament Structure
Total Matches: 54

1. Group Stage


  • Two groups of seven teams each
  • Round-robin: each team plays six matches

2. Super Six


  • Top 3 from each group advance
  • Played cross-group against teams they haven’t yet faced
  • Each team plays 3 Super Six matches, totaling 9 games in this round

3. Knockouts


  • Top 4 from Super Six move to semi-finals
  • Followed by the Final between semis' winners

  • Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg – capacity ~34,000
  • SuperSport Park, Centurion (Pretoria) – capacity ~22,000
  • Newlands, Cape Town – capacity ~25,000
  • Kingsmead, Durban – capacity ~25,000
  • St George’s Park, Gqeberha – capacity ~19,000
  • Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein – capacity ~20,000
  • Boland Park, Paarl – capacity ~10,000

Venus in Namibia
  • FNB Namibia Cricket Ground (Windhoek) – a new stadium with ~7,000 capacity

Venus in Zimbabwe
  • Harare Sports Club, Harare – capacity ~10,000
  • Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo – capacity ~12,500
 

Teams and Groups​


The 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup will feature 14 teams. Here's how they qualified:


Direct Qualification (10 Teams)


According to ICC regulations:


  • The two host nations, South Africa and Zimbabwe, both Full Members, received automatic qualification.
  • The top eight teams in the ICC Men’s ODI Rankings (as of March 31, 2027), excluding hosts, also qualified directly.



Qualified via Global Qualifier (4 Teams)


The final 4 spots were decided through the 2026 ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier, held in South Africa.


After a fiercely contested tournament, the following teams earned qualification:
