Hastings, Cutting the young guns and the token selection for Henriques.

:laugh these selectors are crazy why do they even have Hodge in this 30??. My word, its pretty obvious they aren't going to pick him :facepalm

Wouldn't call Henriques token TBH. Admittedly he is not having a great season for NSW - but i'd say he is better than Christian if he playing at his best.

Hodge is definitely a token selection.
Henriques and Christian are about equal at their best as their stats show and I've seen nothing to indicate otherwise. Henriques might have more potential but its about time he starts delivering on it. At this stage he definitely is a token selection as their have been better T20 players this season, his CL form might count for a bit but his form this season for NSW has been dreadful to the point he got dropped.

Agreed on Henriques vs Christian.

But as we both know in a perfect world Hodge would/should have been in the T20 team currently, if the selectors & him didn't have bad blood.

Yep his latest statement about the selectors all but sealed his fate. Even if he was in the side I don't know if he would be effective since hes ideal for the top 3 but those spots are taken. Ideally he could go in over Clarke but that will never happen.

Wow the selectors are cruel :facepalm

Picking Bard Hodge when he knows they won't take him.

Would have liked to see Matty Wade there.

Australia's World T20 15 Man Squad

What do you think the Australian WT20 15 man squad will look like??

Here is my thought.

1. David Warner
2. Shane Watson
3. Cameron White

5. Michael Clarke (capt)
6. Adam Voges
7. Steven Smith
8. Mitchell Johnson
9. Dirk Nannes
10. Shaun Tait
11. Doug Bollinger

12. David Hussey
13. Shaun Marsh
14. Ryan Harris
15. Tim Paine (wk)

Miss Out:
George Bailey, Travis Birt , Nathan Bracken, Daniel Christian, Ben Cutting, Xavier Doherty, John Hastings , Nathan Hauritz, Moises Henriques, Brad Hodge, James Hopes, Michael Hussey, Brett Lee, Andrew McDonald, Clint McKay

That's not very strong Aussie line-up.
Haddin at four??? He's averaging 19 in T20's.
Clarke also has a terrible T20 record.

Not sure why Smith would be there???
I though he's only playing to give Hauritz a rest.

Pace bowling attack is pretty predictable, Tait, Nannes, Johnson.
Bollinger hasn't even played one T20I, so not even sure if he's in the picture.

Other fringe players in your squad would be Voges, Marsh and Paine.

Not sure if you need a back-up keeper, you can't get injured in 20 overs of cricket.

Averages mean nothing in T20 cricket. Haddin has had to come in and slog/take stupid runs i almost all his T20 innings.

Gazza added 3 Minutes and 51 Seconds later...

1. David Warner
2. Shane Watson
3. Michael Clarke (c)
4. David Hussey
5. Cameron White
6. Travis Birt
7. Brad Haddin
8. Mitchell Johnson
9. Steven Smith
10. Dirk Nannes
11. Shaun Tait

12. Nathan Hauritz
13. Michael Hussey
14. Daniel Christian
15. Tim Paine (wk)

Phillip Hughes wouldn't have been a bad choice, seeing as he could have been the back-up keeper. Yet they picked blokes like Hodge, who everyone knows they won't take.

Don't see the need to promote Haddin, leave him where he was and where he went so well against WI.

My side and squad
Warner
Watson
Clarke
Dussey
White
Haddin
Smith
Johnson
Lee if fit else Harris/Hauritz
Nannes
Tait

Hauritz, Harris, Christian, Hussey if Lee isn't fit Bollinger or Bracken

Ah yes, forgot Lee.

So Christian to miss out, and Lee in. The selectors will probably stick with Birt, even though he's been shitballz in both his internationals.

*Cue AJ fight back*

SA prelim squad. Good to see theron, miller and ingram there. Why van der wath and abdullah are there I have no idea. The one hasn't played at all for the dolphins and the other one has been rubbish for the eagles.

Great to see Ingram and Therron make it, hope they make the final squad. Ingram looks like he could be a real find. I can't se Miller making the squad though he can sure hit a ball miles.
