ICC08: A noob question

I am new to this game. So sorry for asking this stupid question. :help

Can anyone tell me what's the meaning of the "bat" & "chain" symbols in the batsman screen?

If u tick the Bat that batsman will keep most of the strike.The chain should be locked if u want the batsman with same level of aggressiveness for all overs,else if chain unlocked then aggressiveness of batsman will change every over.

If you want a batsman to retain the strike press their bat.

If you wish to play the different bowlers with differing amounts of aggression unlink the chain. (i.e. if the opponent is employing a part-time bowler in tandem with their strike bowler, you may want to be more aggressive against the part-timer)
