I would prefer Parthiv Patel in the place of Rahul and Vijay. Rahul and Vijay have already got many chances. Indian team management should try Parthiv in the opening slot.

Rahul and Vijay are better than Rohit and Shikhar in test cricket.
Let's see.If Chances Are Given To Rohit Sharma And Shikar Dhawan. Then All Rohit Heaters Will Know Who Is Best Opening Pair In Indian Test Team :lol[DOUBLEPOST=1545065293][/DOUBLEPOST]

I agree with Rohit , but Dhawan shows aggressiveness in Australia , because its his mother - in law home town ( Melbourne ). So he must be given a change :p
And BCCI planning to make a special show of " 3 - Idiots " to Murali Vijay & KL Rahul to find their true potential dream.

I know this will sound ridiculous but Pujara and Parthiv should open in the boxing day test match. Parthiv has played as an opener before and Pujara technically is playing as an opener currently anyway.

Doesnt sound ridiculous to me AT ALL. Anyways Pujara is coming within the first 5 overs in almost every innings since England.

Boy, this board doesn't rate Rahul at all. I would neither drop Rahul, nor Vijay. It's the same mistake we make on every tour. Give these guys a series to prove themselves. People on the bench are always better than those playing.

If Hardik Pandya is an automatic selection, I think we are in deep deep trouble. You guys know what is really worrisome? All this opener trouble, Pandya coming back, a spinner required.. Everything seems to be leaning towards indications that the mental idea of Rohit opening might actually happen. The madness of this management might make it happen. We don't need to panic. We have a good team. I would 100% persist with our current openers and not change our top 5 and keeper. I would play Ashwin, Jadeja and 3 seamers. It's Melbourne and Sydney and it will take turn. If Kuldeep plays, I would play Vihari at 6 with 3 proper quicks.

Boy, I really do feel now that Rohit will open.

Some epic level sledging by Tim Paine :
"You Cant Like Him As A Bloke": Tim Paine Asks Murali Vijay About Virat Kohli.

Good !! Its actually true for a lot of Indian cricket fans also

I know he is your country's cricket captain and one of the best batsmen in the world, but you can't like him as a bloke

We may admire him for his skills and for winning us games. But such antics on the field are very cringey

Apparently, he told Paine that he's the best player in the world while he's just some shoe in captain. Frankly, that's pathetic and the sign of a bloke with no sportsman spirit. The more I see and hear all this, the more I hope Williamson overthrows him as the best of his generation. And I'm a bloody hopeless patriot.

May be Paine should turn around and tell him that he's four times the leader Kohli is in a handful of test matches. Kohli and Goti just make me sick!

I dont think dropping KL Rahul is the right way to go. He is just now starting to get a semblance of a consistent run in test cricket. And purely for his age, he should stay in the XI for this whole series. With Dhawan falling out of favor and Vijay definitely on his way out of Indian cricket, Rahul needs persistence despite the failures. I would slot Agarwal in for Vijay, for the Boxing Day test. Maybe the aggression and younger blood of Agarwal might give Rahul the role of holding his end up while Agarwal takes up the aggressor role, and that could work for Rahul.

Rahul
Agarwal
Pujara
Kohli
Rahane
Pant
Hardik
Jadeja
Ishant/Bhuvi/Kuldeep
Shami
Bumrah

I somehow feel Ashwin should not be rushed through. Bring him in for Sydney, thereby giving him extra time to recover. Dont make the same mistake that was done in England. If a 2nd spinner is needed, play Kuldeep for Ishant and just have Shami and Bumrah as the seamers. Even if 2 spinners are not needed, Bhuvi can replace Ishant, who I feel could have a break.

After the way Vijay batted, it would be criminal to let him go. I definitely don't think 1-1 scoreline with such a golden opportunity to win the series is the time to throw in a debutant. Vijay actually looked absolutely at his best today.

I am most worried that Rohit could be tried as opener.

The day when they make Rohit a test opener is the day I would stop watching India's test cricket altogether until a saner captain and team management takes over.

I am starting to admire the way Rohit Sharma is performing in limited overs and I even want him to become full time captain of India in limited overs. But test opener? Hell no.
