MATCH REPORT
Tasmania won the toss and elected to bat first, and from the very first ball Tasmania showed their intentions, with Di Venuto hitting a six of Matthew Inness. The next ball went flying off the edge of Di Ventu's bat, and right past Darren Berry's gloves. But this attacking mode couldn't last long, with Di Venuto being caught of the 5th ball of match at cover, trying to hit over the top. Dighton followed suit 2 balls later, getting a leading edge from Warne. Lewis bowled the next over, and had Cunningham caught as first slip, swinging wildly at a wide delivery, for only 1 run. All three bowlers had now got a wicket off their first over. More wickets fell, and it was suddenly 7/48 and Tasmania looked in real trouble. Marsh, Clingleffer, and the tail ender Griffith, were the only ones who looked dangerous with the bat. Clingleffer finished the innings with 39* (57), Inness had a field day with the ball, snaring 4/46 (10 overs), and taking a good catch in the field. Tasmania finished at a dismal 126 off 29 overs (Run Rate 4.34).

Victoria had an easy run chase on their hands, and Matthew Elliot, and Jon Moss, made light work of the Tasmanian opening bowlers, before Moss fell on 32, misjuding a good length ball from Damien Wright. Their partnership was worth 72 runs. A mini collapse seen Victoria fall from 0/72 to 3/98 in the space of only 5 overs. But Hussey made a quick fire 15 (9), to seal the game for Victoria. The hi-lights in this innings were: D.Wright (3/54), M.Elliot (40 Runs), and J.Moss (32 Runs). The MOTM was awarded to Matthew Inness for his superb bowling figures of 4/46, and taking a catch. Victoria next head back to MCG for their match against South Australia, which will prove to be a stunning match.

That basically is the Victorian Lineup if they were full strength. Anyway they can bat all the way down to Number 9.

MATCH REPORT
Darren Lehmann won the toss a suprisingly elected to bat, on this bowlers paradise. There was a lot of movement in the pitch, which showed, with Greg Blewett getting an inside edge to the deep fine leg for a boundary. Blewett got another edge the fifth ball of match, which flew past Cameron White in 1st Slip. Unluckily Blewett was run out, from a silly run on the last ball of the over for 8 runs. Davison, Flower, and Johnson didn't last long only contributing 14 between them, and leaving the score at 4/24 after 5.3 overs. Lehmann and Higgs put on a good 30 runs stand before Lehmann was bowled comprehensively by a ball which seamed away from him. From then on South Australia lost Higgs, and the tail crumbled, losing 6 wickets for a dismal 4 runs, courtesy from some great bowling from Matthew Inness, and Michael Lewis. South Australia could only condure up 60 runs, which is currently the lowest score of the season by any team. Only two bowlers bowled this whole innings. Lewis had figures of 4/33 (6.0 Overs), and Inness had figures of 5/27 (6.4 Overs), career best figures for List A Limited overs for him.

Victoria thought they had an easy run chase on their hands, and with a boundary of the first ball of the innings, it was made even easier. But some good seam bowling from Jason Gillespie trapped Matthew Elliot in front for only 4 runs. Victoria were suddenly 1/4. A handy little partnership between Jon Moss and Brad Hodge brought Victoria's score to 1/21 before hodge was out, skying a ball to long off for only 10 runs. It didn't get much better for Victoria, losing 3 more wickets for only 22 runs, with the highest score being Harvey's 14 (17). Victoria reached the total in 11.4 overs, 5 wickets down. All bowlers who had a bowl this match claimed a wicket. The main wicket taker in this innings was Jason Gillespie, claiming 3/19 off 6 overs. The MOTM was awarded to Matthew Inness, with his figures of 5/27. Victoria head West to Adelaide Oval, to play South Australia again.
