Intel Chipset Probs (Petition)

Ya. u dont even need to open ur case for that. Just check whether ur monitor is connected to a place near ur AGP and PCI slots.

hi mates... HAPPY NEW YEAR ............

i enquired in Hyd about PCI cards --
1. 32 MB pci card is Rs. 2300/-
2. 64 MB pci card is RS. 4500 - 5000

so i want last suggestion -- is the game work if i use 32 MB pci card on 82810E controller or it still crash as sunny_pec told ?

if i am asking too many questions abt single issue ( pci card) -- sorry

What wiil be the speed difference between a 64MB pci card and 64MB agp card????
:helpme:

Up to 8 times faster for data transfer.

There will be no speed increase in games, it just means you'll be able to have higher quality graphics without sacrificing performance.

I just got the game today and was very disappointed ..... the developers havent made it compatible with the Intel Chipset. Isnt it a norm to make software that is compatible in every old system. Its a norm of software development if I am not mistaken. And, if its deliberate due to company policy then I must say its not very sound. Most people would have these chipsets. Are they making the games for themselves or for us ?

And, in my opinion, EA should come up with a patch or refund people's money. Its morally incorrect on their part. They should have either printed on the box that THIS GAME IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH INTEL CHIPSETS. What did they expect - people would change their motherboard for the game?

Its just RIDICULOUS on their part.

So does anyone have a suggest as to what should I do with the game that I just bought???

It is not standard policy to make a game compatible with all systems. Indeed, it rarely happens.

You don't need to change your motherboard, you can get a new graphics card.

I just bought this game and was shocked to learn that Intel based onboard chipsets won't be supported! It is not quickly apparent that this game will not work with intel chipsets upon buying this game. EA should do something about this. Atleast they should release a patch that'll allow the user to play under "software" instead of "Hardware acceleration" setting. Many games provide this option and I see no reason why EA should not provide such a feature.

I have a Intel 810e motherboard with 192 MB RAM and cricket 2002 worked fine on this.

I also have a new GeForce2 MX 400 PCI card with 64 MB RAM, but this motherboard does not recognize the PCI card?!

I followed the correct procedure to install this card, but all I see on booting up the PC are wierd stripes of colors on the screen.

In the BIOS setup there is no option to disable the onboard AGP. I chose the default graphics device option to "PCI" instead of "onboard AGP". But this didn't help either.

Can anyone please help me out with tips on installing this PCI card so that I can start playing this game? :helpme:

It is a good practice to make software backward compatible. And a game is a piece of software. Too bad the guys at EA havent good their concepts correct.

And its poor work on the part of the EA Cricket Research team (if any exists).

If they are making a game for us then they should keep in mind what hardware we are using..

It may be good practice to you, but it isn't to the software companies.

Making a game backwardly compatible is a lot of work. I think it is perfectly fair for EA to assume that if someone intends to play the latest games, then they will have a proper graphics card.

And by the way, the game is completely compatible with Intel chipsets, just not with the graphics part of that chipset. If you have an Intel chipset motherboard and a proper graphics card, you will have no problems.

Andrew and kalvala ,
U have to keep in mind that not all the people can afford highend gfx cards
Thatz why we are complaining
Fifa 2004 works well on my p.c but that substandard c2k4 does not
WHY?????
The same chipset and gfx were used for both games

Yea Fifa 2004 runs perfectly on my system too, earlier Cricket 2004 did not but now it does as I increased the RAM so no problems now. Intel 82845G/GL is what I have.

well get a better one or don`t play...it ain`t gonna be compatable with old chipsets...

if it was it would have graphics to match
