its funny how many players are drawn to the money of the Indian League!

Am I correct in thinking the league is based on the T20 format?
Funny how many players have suddenly taken a fancy to that format isn't it?! I can remember KP issuing some disparaging remarks about T20 and now he wants to jump on a plane immediatly!
I have not heard one player saying they want to play good cricket and enjoy it. All I've heard is talk of money!

Greed!

The whole thing smells!

Presumeably you'll have enjoyed the story of Ali Brown then who was sought after by Sachin Tendulkar but turned him down because he didn't want to break his contract with Surrey - even for megabucks.

TangoCharlie, if you were to be a Cricket star what would you have done? don't tell me you'd not go for the money?

Luke Pomersbach did say that he does not care if he is not paid, he just wanted to play for the experience with the World's leading cricketers.

I'm pretty sure Tendulkar did no such thing.

I have said before - any employee in any job, including cricketer, have a right to maximise their earnings.

The argument most people are making is a patriotism argument, which I agree with. If cricketers start giving up international duties for IPL commitments, I have no respect for them.

Think about it as the President of the US signing a nuclear deal with Iraq. He is an employee and he would indirectly be getting more money out of it (although a small sum in the case of the buyer being Iraq), but he still has a national commitment that he would be foregoing.

Thats sachin's love toward him.:p
Anyway
Alistair Brown, the most destructive strokemaker the county game has seen in recent times.
Strange though.

I don't blame the domestic guys personally, but it's the guys who will abandon their international commitments for more money in a month long sideshow that worry me. Three West Indian players may end up doing this.

Yes but the situation is not looking for a raise in their current employment, it's like you working at KFC and then getting an extra job at McDonald's. Eventually they're going to start clashing and then you'll have to choose which one you want. KFC is closer to home but it pays less.

Anyone who thinks this isn't going to be a problem is not very bright.

I think it will be a problem, no doubt, but the players can't be blamed, essentially.
