IPL, 20 overs and pure greed!

we shall blame ICC therefore.

I don't. The ICC, the mess it is, always is a scapegoat when things go wrong. I lay the blame on the BCCI, who might as well be world cricket's governing body the way things are going.

The BCCI are certainly the ones with the ideas of how to hurt cricket, but the ICC is helping nothing by allowing them to do what they want.

Fine if they wanna make loads of cash but i find it laughingly hypocritical of some of them.

KP made some silly remarks about T20 when it started, as did the Aussie Captain!!
Now, suddenly they are loving it?!!

Hmmmm?!

I don't understand what's wrong in wanting to make money for a competition that's immensely popular amongst fans.

People have a change of heart sometimes. I personally hated T20 cricket when it first came out, now I like it!

I think the IPL is fantastic so far, and anyone who disagree's is just frankly cynical.

Yeah, i agree but today when i was watching Rjasthan match with Delhi, i was having a feeling, that some boring ICL match is going on.

I was a little disappointed with the hypocrisy from a couple of Australian players at first. Ponting seemed to echo my sentiments on 20/20 cricket in a few of the earlier interviews; that it was just a slogfest and if you actually wanted to appreciate the skill of players then 20/20 is not the way to go.

Despite that view, I'm loving the IPL so far. The mixture of internationals and young guns from the subcontinent are great to watch. I wasn't particularly interested in our state 20/20 comp or the inters, but I haven't missed a game so far with the IPL. This format just seems watchable for 20/20 for me.

The amount of money involved is somewhat of a concern for robbing countries of a stronger national team, but if it's as lucrative as their making out, I'd prefer to see the players getting a good cut for a pretty intensive month+ of cricket.

And weren't some cricketers moaning about the amount of games they had to play?!
they had better stop winging now!!

IPL is giving domestic players some good exposure and some fringe players who were better than those guys who got selected in national team will now have chance to show the world their skills (Shikhar Dhawan, Gony, Bhatia etc.)

The BCCI are certainly the ones with the ideas of how to hurt cricket, but the ICC is helping nothing by allowing them to do what they want.

Well you are official BCCI basher here so I expected nothing else from you.

I don't blame the domestic guys personally, but it's the guys who will abandon their international commitments for more money in a month long sideshow that worry me. Three West Indian players may end up doing this.

IPL does not want to get in war with other boards. Thats why Shoaib is banned in IPL also and WI nad NZ players will be asked to leave once their respective tours start.

No they won't be asked to leave, their teams will want them and their cricket board isn't objecting to it either because they're 'too scared' of the BCCI and their players being upset at them.
