IPL IPL 2011 TV Rights

Any idea if Time Warner Cable has Neo Cricket in their channel lineup? We dont have Comcast services here in Cincinnati area.

I think the only other cable that shows Neo Cricket is Cablevision, if you have that you can add Neo cricket for 6-7$ I think. I'd still check to see if Time Warner shows it.

Darn thing Willow is not covering IPL (no mention about it at all in their website so far). It was much better with Lalit Modi around that we had the IPL in YouTube. BCCI have scrapped that too now.

The matches will be live on Indiatimes: India News, Business, Movies, Cricket, Shopping, more... as it was on youtube last year. This is due to them buying the rights

I think this is a good move as this has yielded quite some money..

Yeah, BCCI's actions here make Modi look like a saint. BCCI completely ignored previously set up deals and negotiated new rights, a battle being fought in the courts right now. And I hope BCCI loses as this is a complete violation of ethics.

Also, youtube > indiatimes. I don't know if indiatimes will even post highlights like youtube did.

Yeah, one of my Indian friends was having a cry about it...

The time difference is pretty terrible, so I can understand why Sky didn't bother paying what they would have had to. I assume they would have based it on the interest it had last year.

No IPL in New Zealand is pathetic. Didn't New Zealand Cricket create a separate window in their international schedule for the tournament.

Surely NZ must get the tele-cast of IPL.

I wouldn't call it pathetic, outside Indian's living here there's not much interest in it.

It starts tomorrow right, and I haven't seen anything in any media on it.

The matches are more or less in the middle of the night here (the World Cup final went from 10pm to 6am, perfectly in the completely wrong time), and I assume Sky would have had to of payed quite a bit of money to get it.

It's all rugby and league atm, most people here are over cricket for the time being as our summer has just come to an end.

I think it's more to do with the court case than anything else

From a friend:

SKY TV statement on coverage of IPL 4:
"We are still in a process of negotiations with the host broadcasters for the rights of the IPL-4 2011 event. Once we secure the rights, we shall schedule it accordingly in our sports channels. Request you to keep checking our EPG (Electronic Programming Guide) for updates."
