Your Cricket Ipswich U19 National League campaign

Here I shall give updates of the National League Indoor side from Ipswich if anyone is interested:

Bristol: Cancelled, couldn't raise a team.
Wolverhampton:
Game 1: Derby
My first game in charge of the side in only my 4th ever National League game, spirits were high:
The Team:

• Ben (Captain)
• Adam (VC)
• Ashley
• Ashwin
• Josh
• Alex
• Stuart
• James

Adam and myself first, we got us off to a decent enough 28 run start. Then the next three skins between them raised us to a total of about 93 or so. Derby then put 215 on the board. Match Lost
Game 2: Nottingham
The Team:
As before, we only travelled with 8 men.
The game was much, much closer, fielding first we kept them down to 120-odd in the end but could only muster about 100. Match Lost
These results mean the team have now not won in 3 years.

Canary Wharf:
Game 1: Bristol
Favourites for the title this year, I personally wasn't entirely confident of a result. It is worth pointing out at this point that in the last two years we registered a total of 1 point overall. We won two skins vs Nottingham, which equals two points for the year.
The team:

• Ben (Captain)
• Adam (VC)
• Ashley
• James
• James
• Stuart
• Josh
• Ashwin

1 change, Alex, who couldn't play due to work is out, with the available James coming into the side. Once again we won the toss (2nd in 3 games) and fielded, restricting them to a very achievable 127. However, despite another skin win by myself and the VC, we lost 118-127. total for this season is a grand total of 3 points (3 skins), 2 of which won by myself and Adam. Match Lost
Game 2: Nottingham
Team as before, travelled with 8 again.
Notts had just narrowly lost to Derby, so their tails were down. We won the toss again and fielded. Whereupon they scored 123. So so achievable and we were very confident of a win. A solid start from myself and Adam won us yet another skin, and that was to be our last for the game. However, somehow we won the game which brought manic celebrations! Match Won!!!

Today: Ipswich
Game 1: Derby
Becoming the league's most hated team with their constant Mankat-ing, we knew we could definitely win. Lost the toss, but they forfeited it because they were two players short at the start.
Adam and myself put on 35, despite losing 20 runs by way of 4 wickets. The second pair got something rubbish like 2, and the last two skins got 31/38 respectively (Not sure of exact maths)
They won the first skin (only the second me and Adam have lost, both when we batted 1st) and the second. However, we really began to turn it on during skins 3 & 4. However, we lost quite disappointingly 109-122, my last over, despite bowling quite well went for 17 off 8. We finished with 2 skins, and have a game against Bristol at 5pm later. Match Lost
