I am really annoyed as online play is already broken but I cannt play offline either due to stupid AI playing 70% of the shots on backfoot and when ever I bowl a yorker most of the time it plays lofted backfoot late cut and hit it for 6 (BTW very next moment I quit the game and remove the disc) so plz can any one help me out on how to enjoy this game??????

That bug is pissing off a lot of people!! Some of us have stopped playing ODI and T20 because of it!! Play test matches....lot more fun :)!

I don't see what is wrong with this. If you overpitch then it can be hit on the backfoot for a four or six.

Have you trying varying your length? If you keep bowling one length then you are likely to get hit.

I can see where you are coming from, the general rule is if the ball is pitched you play on the front foot and if it is short on the back foot. There are always exceptions to the rules for exceptional players like Tendulkar, Shewag and Gilchrist. I have seen them hit yorkers to the boundaries on the back foot.

I can imagine, outside off yorker, stand and deliver shot over long off. If it is wide just squeeze it out to third man or even a square drive.

A lot of ways to hit boundaries than just on the front foot.

Hahaha....I will wait for the day when you play this game bowl a perfect yorker to the batsman!!!! You have no idea on what to expect...!!

Even a game of Quidditch will not show you such magic as the AI playing a hook/cut shot to a yorker ball and still hitting it for a 6 :)!!

Yep, it's a farce and one of about half a dozen things that desperately need to be fixed. There was no patch last year, surely one this year?

I can feel the pain. As far as my experience goes this issue (Backfoot on a yorker) happens only in ActionCam. Try the broadcast view, I tried it while batting to see how they handle the backfoot on a yorker, I was cleaned up for good, maybe the AI will avoid playing that shot in Broadcast view.

I guess the AI has some sort of magical power to controll the bounce of the ball. The way the ball bounces (or floats) up to the bat from yorker length is somewhat eery :p.
A nice touch by Codies/TG.
:sarcasm

Yeah its a silly thing too see, i have been playing test matches mostly. So its not to bad but in oneday and t20 very annoying. Lets hope a patch comes to fix it and the online problem. They are the 2 worse things about the game so far.:noway:D

The backfoot cut to a yorker is ridiculous, but like 79cricket said, if you plays Tests it eliminates a lot of the agricultural shots.

Lets hope a patch is released soon covering all the major bugs.

I was so shocked the first time the AI ( I use that term loosely, hehehe ) played a backfoot shot from a very well pitched up delivery for six.

Then to see the replay in slow motion and see the ball bounce almost straight up is a major oversight on the part of the developers.

Come on guys, please fix this for us... :facepalm

The AI kept playing the shot even in broadcast view for me. I have stopped playing ODIs and T20 due to this ridiculous shot. I also advise the thread maker to stick to test cricket to avoid seeing this bug.

You won't completely avoid seeing it. The only thing that's different in Tests is that the AI isn't constantly telling itself "I've got to get a move on". There are times, and I saw this more than a few times earlier today in a Test I played, that the AI will need to push for runs in Tests. And when it does, you'll see the exact same shots.

Yes I agree it can't be completely avoided even in tests but we have to make do.
