Your Cricket Jake's season diary

doesnt going from 13's to 15's change the regulations Cricket Australia put in. Some examples would the number of overs you can bowl in an spell is like 5 max and for spinners its 8 or something like that. I think this is because they dont want to cripple the players(like india) when they are adults with stress fractures all over their body.

so wudnt it better off playing at higher level since you get more overs

I am more than likely going to stay down to be honest, should benefit my career and my club more. I had a fight with my parents last night and they said I can't play rep, but I think if I ask them when they calm down I will get to play. Heres hoping. :)

mate whereabouts in Sydney are you, rep from above under 14 is usually rubbish to be honest in most areas

I have signed up, for 13's, but there is a 90% chance I will go up. I did some fielding drills today as well. If I play 14's-16's rep, I will want to play 15's club.

And if Jakester moves up my parents will consider moving me too. :D

mate, what club? whereabouts, I played Easts in sydney at under 16.

to be honest unnder 16 in Sydney is generally a big step up from 14's

good luck with rep,

yeah I'm in under 16's this year and just in my team I can see a huge difference from the under 14's and we have only had a few training runs.

Yeah its a huge leap up, in U16, you know they are going to bowl it on the pitch. In U14, you were guaranteed your 2-3 free runs every over.

I'm not in Sydney.

I'm in a little place called Coffs Harbour. Looking forward to the season, training starts on Sunday! :)

Little places in Australia produce legends eg:-Sir Don Bradman

I remember my under 14 days minimum 3 or 4 wides in an over :p

Mare Cricket at higher level goes tougher so you gotta work hard to score that 100

Well, I did my try outs. I feel like I batted really well, and my bowling was decent. My run up has been fixed as well, and it's really working for me.

I think I will make it, and I hope I do. I get to go to Tamworth for 4 days, Monday to Friday. I was so devastated on Saturday morning when the team was not in the paper.

Sorry I haven't been updating this, I didn't make the rep side, but through the season have started playing 4th grade. Batting poorly, but I expect that to lift sometime next year.

Currently 3* overnight (well, from one saturday to another!) in seniors, looking to come back tomorrow and make a solid 20-30. We are leading by 100 odd, so even if we get bowled out tomorrow with no runs added (only 2 wickets for the bowling side to get) we will go for outright.

Starting a new game in juniors, hope we bat and I bat 3.

Took 2-4 odd (could be anything, up to 10, I didn't check the scorebook) in juniors and 1-12 off 6 and 0-4 off 2 in seniors combined with a masterfully crafted stonewall innings of 1 not out playing out 6 maidens in a row from my mate.
