Key problem while batting

I hope someone can assist. I cannot seem to play a cover drive or aglance/steer shot with the righthand batsmen playing front foot. When I press down arrow and left arrow, and press S, nothing happens! Same with up arrow and left arrow and S, nothing. The batsmen won't play a shot. I can however play a backfoot shot, down arrow left arrow and W for a backfoot shot.

Anyone with a similar problem? Does anyone know how to fix this or assign different keys?

I have the same problem with Cricket2004, bet you can play the shot with a Left Handed Batsman

I also had the problem with 2004 and simply reassigned the keys and it worked. In 2005 you cannot reassign the keys, which is a bit silly. So now I need a work around. Very frustrated as I cannot play the game properly
