Things doesn't look good for us.
We need to bat as long as possible and should dismiss West Indies for less than 200.

A really good day for the Windies after an apparently poor declaration from Worrell. All the same, we need a lead of 100+ here, so best get the wicket quickly

The fourth day should be up by tomorrow I think. Next time, I'm simply going to post the final like I post the group games. This all ends up being too time consuming for me.

A decent comeback by us in the second inngs.
So lets accept it we need to chase down whatever target they set.

With the kind of batting we got even 400 is chaseable.

Good to see Everton Weekes finally showing a glimpse of his quality. Reach 300, declare, then bowl them out.

You needn't do that every time. It gets pretty annoying after a while. I know very well that I still have one more day to post. I'm currently juggling the PCPL auctions, a couple of leagues and a somewhat busy-ish personal life.

I will get to this when my schedule clears up a bit. Be that today, tomorrow or the day after - I really can't tell at the moment. So, a little more patience and less 'bumping' would be much appreciated.

That's just life sometimes. If I could help it, I would have finished this a lot faster. Also goes to show why posting day-to-day commentary, captions and stuff is a really bad idea for 4/5-day matches.

The West Indian skipper controversially declared his team's innings with his comrade Everton Weekes just two short of a half-century. Australia would have to chase a massive 367 to win.

Despite a brilliant century from Matthew Hayden, and a surprisingly entertaining fifty from Allan Border - Australia could muster only 297.

Australia looked good for a win with Hayden and Bradman together scoring at almost 6 an over, but fell apart after their departures.

The Australian legends played better than anyone else throughout the tournament, but the West Indian legends penchant for big games like this saw their might undone.

Garry Sobers (130*, 18 & 6 wickets) and Victor Trumper (646 runs at 58.73) won accolades for the match and tournament respectively.

Damn, with those two declarations it was as if we were trying to lose it, but in the end we prevailed. It took longer than planned to find that ideal balance to our side, but once we did, we were unstoppable. As always, full credit to VC for another enjoyable season.

Well we were the only unbeaten team till the finals but we failed in the last hurdle.
Ricky Ponting and Greg Chappell couldn't do much with the bat and that's one of the reasons for our downfall.

Enjoyed the league @VC the slogger
