Leicestershire will be looking to get of to a good start after their pre season warmup in Pakistan and some good results out there. Nottinghamshire will alos be looking forward to this game and will alos be hoping to get of to a winning start. The wicket down here at Trent Bridge looks good with a slight covering of grass offering seam movement for the bowlers and a even surface for the batsmen. Leicestershire captain Darren Robinson explained how "the wicket looks flat and the grass covering isn't enough to threaten so if we can get a good score first up we should be able to apply plenty of pressure.

Leicestershire have got of to a modest start putting 104 runs on with the loss of two wickets. The pitch has offered little to the bowlers which is supprising and Sidebottom has been unable to get any real damaging swing. HD Ackerman was the first wicket to fall when the score was 69-0. After such a promising opening partnership Ackerman was extremely disappointed to be dismissed in the way he was, runout, looking for a quick single. Following this dismissal Leicestershire continued to score runs with ease but then they lost Robinson, the capatin for 45 with the score 95 for 2. He was caught by Swann at square leg after he tried to flick Shreck into the legside. With this wicket this session has gone Nottinghamshires way and therefore Leicestershire will be looking to improve in the next session.

Leicestershire managed to add 101 runs whilst losing two wickets. The first wicket was Sadler who started slowly but soon found his feet hitting the ball through the covers and down the ground. However he fell victim to the second run out of the innings when he looked for a single but got sent back. After Sadler left Allenby went quickly after when he took on Sidebottom with the pull but managed to find a slight edge through to Read with the gloves. For Leicestershire this was a big lose with no batsmen getting up over 50 and with the long tail nearly evident. However Nixon has looked steady and could easily get himself some runs.

Leicestershire managed to reach 300 in the final session with Nixon passing 50 within 89 balls. This session was vital for leicestershire with them losing 2 wickets in the previous session and looking to build a good partnership. Maunders looked in fine form hitting a vital 41 before he fell for a good slower ball hit straight to Fleming. However Henderson has looked settled at the crease and looks as if he could register himself a half century. Furthermore the rate at which he has got his runs is impressive with his 31 coming in 32 balls. For Nottinghamshire Shreck has picked up two wickets and Sidebottom has got himself 1. With bad weather predicted Leicestershire will be looking for some quick runs so they can get bowling at Notts.

Leicestershire could only add 47 more runs on day two before they were bowled out. Nixon was the first wicket to fall when he edge a cover drive to Read of Ealham. After Nixon departed for 64 he was then followed by Stuart Broad who was brilliantly runout by a direct hit from square leg by Swann. This wicket brought Kruger to the crease who managed to score 9 before getting a thick edge to Hussey in the gully. With 8 wickets down Leicestershire were hoping for a partnerhsip with Henderson still there, however when Langeveldt flicked Patel to mid wicket it looked unlikely this would happen. As expected Masters didnt last long and was finally dismissed when he mistimed a drive to mid off. Leicestershire had so many starts and they will be disappointed thay no one was capable of reaching 100.

Bowl.jpg

Nottinghamshire had to wait till the morning of day three to start there innings after rain interrupted play on day two washing it out. However when play did start Leicestershire got of to a flyer taking 3 wickets for just 14 runs. Langeveldt found a perfect line and lenght with the batsmen opting to leave the ball and having it nip back catching them lBW and bowled. However since then Nottinghamshire have rebuilt their way up to 131 for 3 with Read reaching 50 in just 40 balls. Along with him Notts captain Fleming has looked settled and has worked a good innings of 46 form 90 balls. Leicestershire will be hoping they can get some wickets and regain control like they intially did.
