McCullum smashes the 2nd ever 2020 Int Century after 129 match gap

Who will score the 2nd 2020 Int Century? Who cares? :sarcasm

I understand you do not care much for Twenty20 Owzat but it does not mean that the thread is irrelevent.

I find it amazing that only 1 person has managed a century in Twenty20 Internationals whereas in domestic cricket they are scored quite frequently. It just goes to show that even in this format the gap between domestic and international is just as big a gap as the other ones.

With the amount of indept analysis and statistics you normally post, I was hoping for a real constructive answer from you, but alas twas not to be :(

How are people saying Sehwag? He's been terrible in T20 and usually needs 70-80 balls for a century. 200 in an ODI, maybe, but 100 in T20 is rather tricky.

It'll need to be someone who can whack it in about 60 deliveries. Top order batsman too.

Gayle, Dilshan. Warner and McCullum have the ability, but can fail a lot. Maybe Afridi/Razzaq if they bat up the order.

Warner and Watson are in good form atm so the 2nd T20 against NZ will be their last chance to make use of it before they take a break before the T20 WC.

We will definitely see one at the T20 WC, just seems unthinkable for that many matches to occur without one especially with the newer teams but even the Test teams playing each other could have it happen to them.

Pretty much has to be an opener, or a number three:

NZ

McCullum
Ryder (Currently injured)
Guptill (Unlikely)

AUS

Warner
Watson

IND

Gambhir
Sehwag

PAK

Nazir
Afridi (If he bats up the order)

WI

Gayle

ENG

Trott (Unlikely)
Pietersen

SL

Dilshan
Jayasuriya
Sangakkara

SA

Smith
Bosman
Duminy

Would say those are all the people with the highest chance of doing it, of course it is possible for a number four such as Yuvraj, Taylor, or de Villiers to get one, just very unlikely.

Cameron White and David Hussey are also a chance, if they come in at three.

Clarke seems to be your main T20 number three, but he can't score fast enough to get a century in just 20 overs.
Check out that blistering T20I S/R of 102!!!

Clarke is bloody awful to watch in 2020s, so tweaking boring. The opposite would be to put Warner in the Test side.

Yeh, lol, but you have to say Clarke is class enough to do it, should he one day decide to up the anti in a T20. And when hell freezes over.

Warner is talented enough to be a decent test batsman.
