Jersey, Guernsey, Mali and Slovenia have all been admitted to the ICC as affiliate members, bringing the ICCs membership up to 96. Expect jersey and Guernsey to be upgraded to associate membership pretty quickly, as they both have good facilities and lots of turf wickets. Jersey has hosted women's ODIs.

Also, Belgium, Botswana, Japan, Kuwait and Thailand have been upgraded to associate status.

Scotland and Ireland left the ECB 10 years ago, the Isle Of Man left a few years back, now Jersey and Guernsey have both left..... I wonder if Wales will ever go out on their own, and how would they do if they did?

Andrew, just out of pure curiousity how many members in current development squad for England are from Wales. I just know S. Jones is but are there any more??

It would be great from a Welshman's point of view for their to be Welsh national side. They'd be extremely strong with most of the side being from Glamorgan. They'd qualify easily and an exhibitional Wales side played England in 2003 and 2004. We lost last year, but first time we won easily by 8 wickets. However, it is unlikely Wales breaking away as the situation is very different to Scotland and Ireland, with Glamorgan playing in England.

err.. Croft if he hasn't retired. Wharf is a yorkshireman. Not too many i don't think. Hope Jones doesn't leave he looked good in his first spell vs Aus.

Yeah just Simon Jones in the England squad, although there has been a few Welsh players in recent years. They'd have most of the Glamorgan squad to call on though, so they'd be amongst the strongest non test nations.

Jersey and Guernsey are the Channel Islands, they're off the coast of France, but are a British Crown Dependency.

Jersey is also the country that gave us play.com! :D

And why CD prices can be cheap in supermarkets as they can dodge tax legally.

if wales became a cricket team. Glamorgans fixture list would get so muddled up.
